In a fight thought to be closer than was shown tonight, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, lost to Timothy Bradley via split decision, 115-113. 115-113, 113-115.
Bradley seemed to be upended by the eight-time champ, the judges gave the bout to Bradley, in a very unpopular decision with the crowd.
Bradley (29-0, 12 KOs) was out landed by 94 punches in the bout by Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 KOs) , but the the judges obviously saw enough to give "Desert Storm" the close decision.
Even though most analyst thought Pacquiao won, Bradley was able to do enough to pull out the shocking upset victory.
Bradley now has the biggest win in his career, and the rematch will most likely take place in November as Bradley has been promoting over the past few weeks.
Pacquiao told HBO's Max Kellerman that he though he won the fight and the possible November rematch will be a likely option after the controversial decision.
Now the debate will begin if Pacquiao will indeed meet Bradley for a rematch, which would seem like a no-brainer for "Pacman" ti redeem himself in the ring.
Don't think Pacquiao losing will hurt the possibility of
Floyd Mayweather meeting Pacquiao in the ring, as it now could give "Money May" the confidence he may not have had before the Bradley fight to know that he could in fact beat the one fighter that everyone thought would give him the most trouble in the ring.
