This year only a very few Tanzanian/Kenyan drug mules have tried to enter HK. It's a suicide mission, given the tight security at HK airport.
Recently I met two Tanzanian women - tourists - who arrived on different days ....each was detained for 2 hours of interrogation and searching at Hong Kong airport.
For Hong Kong customs officers, a Tanzanian passport is like a red rag to a bull. Unfortunately, Nigerian drug mules continue to come, and to be caught. Here is a sad letter (in English) from a recently arrested Nigerian: 2013.
To further strengthen security in Hong Kong, a number of countries (USA, UK, Australia) now have their own anti-drug squad officers in Hong Kong.
