I have seen Kenyans commenting about the state of Tanzania’s political leadership, especially regarding the recent comments made by Samia. Let me explain this to you, Kenyans, hoping that you will understand the circumstances in which all of this is happening.
Tanzania's leadership is not a reflection of the country's brain quality. This is at least a fact for all countries, although poor countries that call themselves "developing" tend to be at the extreme end. The problem with Tanzania has been the failure to dislodge CCM from power, due to historical reasons similar to those of the ANC in South Africa.
After multipartism, CCM lost support from educated people. Then CCM decided to entrench themselves among less educated people and the military. CCM actually bribed, and is still bribing the military indirectly. This is done by allowing the military to spend their budget extravagantly. It is now the party with the most less-educated leaders. Compared with the three classic East African countries, it is the only one that still invites illiterates to be members of Parliament.
No wonder when Ruto was in parliament, they kept appreciating every word. What we have learned is that they had been instructed to do so in his speech. To them, they were rewarding Samia’s instructions. Such people will never understand terms like democracy, rule of law, or even the word "development." When they buy expensive phones and cars, to them that is development.
Some are wondering, and even appreciating the quality of Kabudi. In fact, he is the most useless professor, but don't be surprised. Every profession has useless people: useless professors, useless religious leaders, useless presidents, useless farmers, etc. He is a useless professor. Tanzanians know what he did and how he behaved at the University of Dar es Salaam.
We Tanzanians feel sorry for the incompetence you are seeing from Samia and her parliament. However, I wonder why Ruto came to Tanzania, especially being a person who vindicated himself from the ICC saga. Knowing Samia is a brainless person with such blood-tainted hands, under ICC scrutiny, is Ruto expecting to have clean alliances with such a person? Instead, she is inviting him on the way to The Hague!
