The announcement came while the U.S.-Kenya Trade and Investment Working Group held its third meeting in Washington this week.

The Working Group, established by Trump and Uhuru in August 2018, is laying the groundwork for a stronger bilateral trade relationship.

Other outcomes of the third meeting of the Trade and Investment Working Group include the following:

Adoption of a phytosanitary protocol by Kenya that allows American wheat growers in Washington State, Oregon, and Idaho access to Kenya’s $470 million dollar wheat market for the first time in over a decade.

USA kuiuzia Kenya ngano, Kenya kweli ni "Failed State", sasa ninyi mtawauzia nini wamarekani, hivi mbwembwe zote za Uhuru kwenda kukutana na Trump kumbe ni njaa ndio inasumbua?

Tanzania ngano mnalima? Asilimia 99 Ya ngano unayokula chapati na mkate inatoka nje. Kabla ya kumponda mwenzako jiangalie na wewe. Usije ukawa wewe ndio worse kupita wewe....

Kenya should strive to import less and export more. We can easily mess up if we go into this blindly. What market will we gain in return? If we allow in their wheat then they must allow our flowers and tea or something else. They should never be given access to our market without a reciprocal favour in return otherwise it is not a negotiation but an exploitation. We need the full details of what benefits we will get before we celebrate.

arable land is shrinking in kenya to the point that farming low value food crops is not profitable,it make sense to import cheaply from big countries, farming low valuable food crops like maize, wheat etc was profitable back in the 60s 70s & 80s when population was low,in any case we export more to america than we import.

Unless you are idiot to think this way, 50% of Kenyan Income goes to the food stuff because Kenya imports nearly 70% of its food. How can you think that Kenya can survive by importing food?, remember any imports involves foreign currency, that means any flunctuation of Ksh is going to affect the price of food, remember the priceS of Petrol and Diesel change every month, that means even the price of unga will change the same.

Siku hizi unapigwa mboko na Watanzania wenzako. Umepoteza heshima kote kote.
