Kenya media with jealous cum hate propaganda against Uganda

Keep talking sh*t and thinking TZ doesn't have intellectuals. The ONLY reason Kenya's economy is bigger & more advanced is TZ chose the wrong system(Ujamaa.) The Japanese used to look down on China too as if they were stupid; now they're sh*tting in their pants. North & South Korea are the same people, but I bet you geniuses from Kenya would attribute the huge disparity in their economic development to S. Koreans being more intelligent, instead of the real reasons(Free Market+democracy Vs communism+oppression) Now that TZ has some semblance of freedom & stability, it's only a matter of time before her economy becomes bigger than Kenya for she's a bigger country, has A LOT more resources, and a bigger potential for a lot more to be discovered. Just one example of recent discovery, read this February article from worldoil.com(Their planned investment alone is bigger than half of Kenya's GDP)

BG Group to invest $20 billion in Tanzania gas exploration

BY GEORGE MWANGI

NAIROBI -- BG Group plans to invest up to $20 billion to extract gas in Tanzania, The Guardian newspaper reports Wednesday.

BG Chairman Robert Wilson is quoted as having told Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete that Tanzania has to prepare its economy to handle such an amount of money.

"We are planning to invest between $10 billion and $20 billion in second half of this decade in gas and the Tanzanian economy," Wilson is quoted as saying.

BG has discovered huge reserves of natural gas in three wells, including a deepwater one, in the Indian Ocean, the daily says.

The firm has invested $500 million in gas exploration in the country last year and it will invest the same amount this year, Wilson said.

Wilson called on the government to join efforts to counter challenges in exploration and production of gas in the Indian Ocean, especially in dealing with pirates originating from Somalia, the daily says.

BG entered Tanzania last year with the purchase of 60% of Ophir Tanzania Ltd., which had a contract with the government and the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corp. for exploration of gas in the Indian Ocean, the daily says.

Dow Jones Newswires

TZ has had all sorts of natural resources for years but have nothing to show. Only 4% of the earnings from mining remains in Tanzania. Your mines are practically owned by South African, European and American firms. I feel sorry for you guys!

So this is the over due response to the Lamu port ground breaking project by Jamii Forum's self styled rotor mouth Geza Ulole! This is not despicable but funny! The port project has made Geza Ulole so mad that he took out time to put together a poorly written essay bubbling with rage over the ground breaking of the port. Poor Geza Ulole!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Uganda's oil reserves are limited and meant for local consumption. That is why they are currently working on a refinery and the size of the refinery has to be scaled down because of the size of their reserves. The amount that is left might be exported, to the East African market or pumped into the existing pipeline.

To all the other level headed Tanzanians, you are much better off agitating for change in your country and not joining Geza Ulole and his crew in this XENOPHOBIC rant. The problem is some focus on Kenya and forget that you have your own country to worry about. :poa

"......"Our view is that with production expected to peak between 150,000 and 200,000 barrels per day, you cannot have that size of a refinery," Mekie told The Independent.

First of all you are putting all your eggs in one basket, relying on a market that is far bigger than Uganda. If those markets disappear - for instance Kenya finds oil - it's not going to buy petroleum products in Uganda. You end up with a refinery that is operating inefficiently."

Mekie argued that unlike Saudi Arabia or Kuwait, Uganda's oil is a finite resource, and infrastructure investments must be tempered with the awareness that the future of the economy lies in other sectors.

"What you need to do is use the oil revenue to build infrastructure in the other industries that will sustain you when the oil is gone and for that you need high levels of foreign revenues coming in to invest in education, power distribution, roads and industrializing agriculture," he said."

It is interesting that some opinion section columnists have some here very worked up! I would love to explain how an opinion section of a newspaper works but I implore you to do the research for yourselves.

If only you would spend all that time and energy used up on everything Kenyan talking about Tanzania and how to better your situation. Some fancy themselves to be specialists on Kenyan politics but have forgotten that Tanzania is yet to see true multi party politics and you are still under the thumb of the same party since independence. Your constitution is a relic of your colonial and ujamaa past and that is part of the reason your mineral wealth is being plundered.

You are blinded by a GDP growth driven by capital intensive investments and have become complacent of the fact that you are an island of peace in a sea of poverty.

A few have made it a point to brandish your gas reserves on every website and have become comedians of sorts, childish innocence. Remember, the Kenyan economy has been growing for decades buoyed by diversification and our service sector. We also have minerals that have not been tapped into. Those of you that think that the port of Lamu is only about South Sudanese oil or that Operation Linda Nchi was only about Al Shabaab, have no clue what lies in the Anza Basin of North Eastern Kenya, the Rift Valley bounty and the Lamu Basin. Crude!

It is a rat race dear hacks!

YES this is democracy! Every Kenyan knows where our weaknesses are and we work on them whilst you know every problem that Kenya has but have no idea what is happening in your own country. You boast of an island of peace under one party rule in a sea of poverty. That is why only a handful of Tanzanians other than your poodle, back you up in your FEAR driven attacks on Kenya. Once you get true multi party politics let us know. The French revolution, The American civil War, The London Riots.......watch & learn.

The tragedy is that even after the 2007 elections violence in Kenya, we came out stronger...NEW & FINE CONSTITUTION (SECOND ONLY TO THE SA CONSTITUTION), DEVOLVED GOVERNMENT, AND MASSIVE INFRASTRUCTURAL PROJECTS THAT TANZANIA CAN ONLY DREAM ABOUT! :poa

  1. Thika Super Highway
  2. Eastern Bypass
  3. Lamu Port
  4. Kisumu Airport
  5. Southern Bypass
  6. Isiolo International Airport
  7. Kisumu International Airport
  8. Wajir International Airport
  9. Isiolo resort City
  10. Konza City
  11. 7 others..........

All the projects above were initiated after the 2007 violence and most of them have been completed! Now, tell us what you have done with your peace since 2007??

I am talking about projects that have been completed or the ground breaking has occured not dreams and pipe dreams. Dont list mines as projects you have had all those minerals before 2007! List infrastructural projects completed or whose groundbreaking has occured. Hahaha you are listing mines lol.

You are listing $25 million projects i am listing $350 million dollar projects. Major projects! Not small bridges and roads that even somalia is building.

You listed one airport that i am sure has not even been built, i have listed 4 international airports built in kenya after 2007.

No bridge has been built at Kigamboni, the tanga port is still a pipe dream and the railway as well. Real projects geza!!!!!

You are all talk.

Start a thread and we will post details, pictures and links of completed projects from 2007 after our chaos and during your peace time! Just like the suburbs thread we need to shut you up!

FYI the Lamu project is still a pipe dream! No mobilization or activities that have started yet so same status as Uganda railway! Whereas Kigamboni bridge, construction has started and at Malagarasi the project is one year old! As for the airport at Songwe this year will be inaugurated! As for gas projects go urself to see whats going on! a pipeline is being built to Dar! Your fantasies make u think nothing happen other side of the border! Prove to me 4 international airports have been built in Kenya after 2007!

Or is this the airport u r talking about?

its painfull to show this to them, they believe in a Kenya that is highly divided and can neva achieve anything meaningful to warrant a handshake. Some blogger from Tz, i bet trying to save the Tz face at the inabilty for Tz to show any meaningful devts posted a whooping 69 projects currently being undertaken in Tz. The only problem i found with these devts is that they equate to what we call municipal roles or constituency rations (CDF) in kenya. Nothing to the scale of national level. Its worthless arguing with them. Facts are here with us, Lamu project has secured the funds, initial capital is from both tripatriate nations. And alot more from investors who have made proposals to fund the project beyond 2015 after lamu completion.

Show us what Tanzania has achieved!!!!! Why are you running away from the reality?

Remember, all counties in Kenya have either an airport or airstrip!

You have nothing to show for Tanzania! Nothing! It is all about running your mouth yet since 2007 have not achieved anything substantial! Not a single national project to show yet Kenya has over 20 national scale projects and hundreds of smaller scale projects! We dream big Geezer!:poa

slow down sir, if you keep pushing, the fruit will start posting pictures of our Kibera slum. The only thing Tanzania can brag about since they got their independence is peace, large tracts of arable idle land, some minerals which are of much benefit to foreigners and a handsome president who has mastered the art of traveling and seeking handouts from donor countries. remember when Moi kept us mark-timing for years and all we could show from it was an illusion of peace, an ailing economy, dilapidated and non existing infrastructures and grand corruption, Tanzania is on that phase now, a one party state where peace is used as an excuse to lack of development, siasa mbaya maisha mabaya..
