KENYA: Bima ya Afya kwa wanafunzi wa shule za sekondari za Serikali/Umma yazinduliwa

Not every parent can afford NHIF, BUT the Government has data on parents(adults-through KRA) and can know who to subsidize for and who to completely waive the NHIF fee from. Workers with low wages can be subsidized, while those whose parents are not working or are not within any known gvt data can be waived.
Paying NHIF double for any child whoever good it may be is a waste of money and a kin to tenderprenureship. But you woundt know that
Under the constitution of Kenya 2010. Education and Health are basic rights of EVERY Kenyan. You cannot discriminate any student based on their family backgrounds whether privilaged or not. Do you know such basic things? If you roll out a programme for students ALL of them are included. The NASA Jubilee politics ended with the campaigns. Are you mad?

Now look at you, Who said health care should be discriminated? Provision of health care is a basic right, but the "provision" part of it is a business decision that should be cost effective for the program to be sustainable. What am saying is that an audit should be done, those who are employed and their kids Enjoy NHIF should continue, those without should be waived or subsidized. There will be a number of double insured kids, which is a waste of money and an avenue for tenderprenures

Do you understand how insurance works? Since when does an insurer recieve remmitances twice for the same person for the same insurance cover? Parents will no longer have to pay insurance for students who are in public schools. Capisce? Stop your wailing and noisemaking.

Do you get the concept of insurance? This is a joint effort between the Ministries of Education and Health to ensure every student is insured. Here you are suggesting that every student's financial background should be first checked to see if they need insurance. Are you listening to yourself? :D:D:D Stop using hard drugs!
You are spinning wheels and not going anywhere. Do you know how there some students that dont take up the 22k given by Ministry for Secondary education? why? they prefer not to go to public schools. Yes, its important to check the financial background of a person so that the program which is supposed to be a safety net for the very poor succedes in its objectives.
Say for example, an english teacher like you has 2 boys in school, your NHIF covers them already becasuse you NHIF is deducted from your payslip. So should the gvt increase your taxes so that your boys can be covered again with NHIF? Cant you even with rudimentary thinking see that your taxes are being channeled to private insuarance companies owned by tenderprenures? Corruption has succeded in kenya because of people with sterlized brains like you.

I asked you a simple question, since when does any insurer or NHIF recieve remmittances twice from the same person for the same cover? All remmitances for students in public school students end as the government takes the mantle. All students will get comprehensive medical insurance. Unlike the 'dependants' NHIF cover they get from their parents with its outpatient and non-surgical limitations. You don't get insurance, ok. You don't get NHIF? Have you never ever paid? I thought you are Kenyan!

he doesn't have insurance cover...tumpeleke mathare hospital na tumlipie...huyo ni punguani tu
Mwanafunzi wa wings to fly anokosa aje bima? Nilidhani ashalipiwa na Serikali.
ni mwanafunzi wa wings to fly yule?
Seriously. Any person of that caliber is not normal.
Allegedly
Now since you dont comprehend, I have 1 suggestion for you, average brains discuss events, small brains discuss people, big brains discuss issues. Now quickly block me before your female hormones run out

Hii itahamasisha wazazi kuhakikisha watoto wao wanaenda shule maana kila mwanafunzi kwenye shule za umma amewekewa bima na serikali.

The government has launched a Sh 4.5 billion comprehensive medical cover that will cater for all students in public secondary schools.

Speaking during the launch at State House, Nairobi, President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday said the cover will benefit some three million students.

"My government will pay a premium of Sh 1,350 for every student under the cover. This will have a phenomenal impact on our economy," Uhuru said.

He added, "The cover which is a negotiated initiative between Ministry of Health and Education ministry is unique as it caters only for students as opposed to the entire family. This will also encourage other family members and guardians to these students enrol for NHIF as we forge ahead to achieving a universal health care".

The head of State said the plan will foster a healthy nation as parents will no longer be under financial constraints to cater for medical bills of the students.

He said in case of accidents, the students will also be able to access medical services under the cover.

"Even as we move medical services close to schools I instruct that schools train Matrons and nurses to provide first responder care. I also instruct the ministry of health to partner with county governments in ensuring that the facilities that serve students are upgraded to the level of NHIF," Uhuru said.
The NHIF and education ministry must ensure that all learners are registered for the cover before schools open. This is part of our Big4 items under Universal health care," Uhuru added.

The President, however, warned the NHIF personell and the education Ministry to ensure that there is an accurate enrollment data to be facilitated by the National Education Management Information System.
He said this will ensure that the funds do not end up in people's pockets.

Uhuru said his government will closely monitor the programe to ensure it serves the purpose.

"I expect all headteachers and principals to fully cooperate with us in this engagement to ensure we fully have the students data. This will put an end to the ghost students," he said.
