A vacancy exists within the Security Department at Geita Mine for the position of Security Systems Superintendent. The incumbent will take responsibility for technical and control room functions in line with the Department`s strategy to optimise the utilization of technology to support its people, systems and processes.

Position: Security Systems Superintendent

Works for: Security Manager

Purpose of the role:

To ensure that appropriate security measures is implemented, maintained and utilized effectively to support the human resources capacity, systems and processes that will lead to effective and professional security services to clients.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Degree or Tertiary qualification in electronics is required.
· Experience in risk management functions will be advantageous.
· Computer literacy (hardware and software) is essential.
· Solid knowledge and experience of CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarm and Vehicle Tracking systems is essential.
· Knowledge and experience in IT Networks, including security IP and Radio communication systems, will be an advantage.
· Extensive Security experience will be advantageous.
· At least five years working experience.

· Must have good project management skills
· Must have excellent communication/report writing skills
· Must be willing to work abnormal hours
· Must have a certificate of fitness
· Must have a valid driver's license
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
· Analytical and decision-making skills
· Solid team player with ability to work independently
· No criminal record


Main Accountabilities:

Will be required to perform the following main functions:
· Co-ordination and management of security technology maintenance, projects and utilization.
· Ensure effective utilization of the Global Security Information Management System.
· Liaison with all relevant stakeholders, internally and externally.
· Conduct risk assessments and audits in critical areas and other areas of responsibility to ensure that the security measures in place are efficient and effective.
· Provide support to the Security Manager in ensuring an efficient and effective management of the Security department.
· Budget control.
· Administration functions.
