Former Vice President Gilbert Bukenya has filed his defence in a case in which he is accused of seducing the wife of his former political mobiliser, Emmanuel Nyabayango, and allegedly siring a child with her.

Nyabayango was a driver to Rwanda’s former ambassador to Uganda, Ben Rutsinga and came to know Prof Bukenya in 1996 when he worked for him as his campaign agent for the Busiro North parliamentary elections. On July 17, 2012, Nyabayango took Bukenya (Defendant 2) and his former wife, Margaret Kabasinguzi (Defendant 1) to the Family Division of the High court, alleging that the former VP’s act of seducing his wife to the extent of leading her to desert the matrimonial home was “unconstitutional, barbaric, inhuman and unlawful”. Bitter husband lines up 30 witnesses to pin former Vice President
But, through his lawyers, Tumusiime, Kabega and Company Advocates, Bukenya denies all the allegations.
