High Court Judge Justice Emmanuel Baguma has scheduled June 30, 2026, for the hearing of a human rights application filed by opposition politician Kizza Besigye and his co-applicant Obeid Lutale against Muhoozi Kainerugaba and other respondents.

The application alleges serious violations of the applicants' constitutional rights, including claims of unlawful abduction from Kenya, torture, prolonged detention, and public statements allegedly made by Gen. Muhoozi that they argue have undermined their right to a fair trial. The suit also names other military officers and the Attorney General as respondents.

Besigye and Lutale are currently facing separate treason related charges before the High Court. Their legal team argues that the alleged rights violations are closely linked to their arrest, detention, and ongoing prosecution.

The June 30 hearing is expected to address the substantive issues raised in the application and determine the next course of action in the case.
