A group of volunteer IT specialists are attempting to restore the Linda Mwananchi website, which was taken down due to purported cyberattacks, according to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
The troubled Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-General claims that the movement is collaborating with young professionals from other countries who will reopen the website to carry on their national political commitments.
Speaking at a Maru County church service, Sifuna blamed President William Ruto for the website's attack and promised to make sure the redesigned website is impervious to hackers.
According to Sifuna, "thousands of malicious attacks" were seen on the website, which was temporarily taken down on Saturday.
He said that in order to improve the website, the Linda Mwananchi team would take into account user input.
