Now that the gulf oil producing countries have developed an alternative route to export their oil, it means the Persian state's dream of using the strait of Hormuz as a leverage to overcome the American strategy to subdue it has completely everporated.

As the days go by Iran is increasingly being isolated something that shows that the islamist regime in Tehran has its future shrouded in uncertainty.

Coupled with the American military blockade that has completely cut off the country from international markets making it unable to sell its oil and gas the main sources of the country's foreign exchange revenue, is putting the country at the crossroads of resolving whether to go back to the negotiating table with the US to salvage the country's battered economy.

Up until now Iran can view itself as triumphant in its war with the US owing to the regime's survival but in real terms it's still too early to celebrate as the effects of the American blockade can still cause a massive economic debacle to the regime in Tehran that can surely make the country's history to be re-written.

Iran has been subjected to multiple sanctions since 1950s and post-1979 revolution. They've basically been in survival mode since 1980s but have showed tremendous resilience to overcome the economic setbacks and stabilise the nation.

which bears a question; how could Iran withstand 45 years of sanctions but capitulate in just under 6 months of Trade blockade? Is it realistic?

Not really, they have been cut off since 1980s. They've always improvised their trade routes using ghost fleets, road routes via Pakistan, recently developed railway to China and sea route via Caspian sea to mention a few.

This multimodal transportation options due its strategic location is an advantage only matched by its internal capacity to service its population thus reducing international reliance.

Iran can survive the blockade for years as they have survived sanctions and blockades since time immemorial
