HRH Premier to meet Anna Tibaijuka and other high-level delegation of Nobel laureates

Sept 10,Manama: A call for the international community to adopt a new approach to tackling global threats has gone out from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

He made the comment yesterday as he met a high-level delegation of Nobel Peace Prize laureates.

Former South African President Frederik de Klerk, former Polish President Lech Walesa, former President of East Timor Jose Ramos-Horta and Under-Secretary General and former executive director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), Anna Tibaijuka, are currently visiting Bahrain.

During the meeting the Premier highlighted the need for new solutions to counter threats to peace and create a conflict-free world.

He stressed the importance of non-conventional approaches and addressing the root cause of crises.

“The world and the region are in dire need for peace efforts, more than ever,” said the Prime Minister.

He reiterated Bahrain’s commitment to supporting international peace efforts, as well as promoting the values of coexistence and tolerance.

The Nobel laureates presented gifts and a certificate of appreciation to the Premier, in recognition of his efforts to promote peace and coexistence.
