Analysis of IMEI numbers
All mobile phones are assigned a unique 15 digit IMEI code upon production. Below you can check all known information regarding manufacturer, model type, and country of approval of a handset.
Tip! The IMEI can be displayed on most mobile handsets by dialling *#06#. Otherwise check the compliance plate under the battery.
How to verify the IMEI Code of your mobile device
Instructions:
Please follow the steps below (as per TCRA link) in order to verify the IMEI Code of your mobile device
IMEI Code Verification
Dial *#06# on your mobile device.
The number displayed in your device is the unique code specific for your mobile device and is
called International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI). For mobile devices having two SIM cards it will display two IMEI codes.
Enter the IMEI code in the blank space provided and press "Validate My Mobile Device". The Model, Manufacturer and Frequency Bands of the mobile device corresponding with the IMEI code will be displayed for you to compare and verify if your device is genuine or not
Note: If IMEI displayed shows a different model, check with your vendor. Else, change the phone before June 2016 as it may NOT BE GENUINE
