- From March 18, 2026 there is a circulating poster alleging that Joel Kairu steps down from governor race and the reason is a personal issue and he thanks people for their supports. Joel Kairu he is in a Governor race of Nakuru County.

The circulated poster is fabricated and it has no basis of truth. An investigation found that Joel Kairu has not been step down from governor race.

Through his public notice Kairu denied the circulated claim by saying he is still in a race and he advising people to support him. He wrote;
