A holy mass that was organized to take place Monday 23rd February, 2026 today at Rubaga Cathedral has been postponed for unclear reasons.

Winnie Byanyima says she was summoned by Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere and informed that President Yoweri Museveni had asked the church not to proceed with prayers for Dr. Kizza Besigye and other prisoners.
According to her, the Archbishop indicated that the President would first investigate the motive behind the mass and later communicate his position to the church.
