The family and close associates of deceased special forces commando and Museveni body guard, Herbert Nkunda Ahimbisiibwe, have dismissed claims circulating on social media linking his death to political circumstances, stating that he died after a long battle with cancer.
According to information from people close to the deceased, Nkunda had been battling cancer for about two years before he passed away. They emphasized that his death was a result of illness and not related to any political activity or alleged security matters as some online claims have suggested.
The clarification comes after social media posts began circulating alleging that Nkunda had been targeted or killed because he allegedly leaked information to opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, commonly known as Bobi Wine. However, those close to Nkunda have strongly refuted these claims, describing them as false and misleading.
They have urged the public to stop spreading misinformation about his death and instead respect the family during this period of mourning.
