The election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Council for the 2026–2031 term is underway at City Hall.

The sitting follows yesterday’s swearing-in of the Lord Mayor and newly elected councillors. The Speakership race is between NUP John Mary Ssebuwuufu and NRMAli Kalule.

Councillors are voting by secret ballot.
