Florida Sen. Marco Rubio has been hailed by many Republicans as the savior of the party, what with his youth, charisma and Cuban heritage.

Yet that’s not all he has to offer. According to one Republican strategist, the freshman Florida Senator also knows a little something about 90s rap music to boot.

Sunday on ABC’s This Week, GOP operative Nicole Wallace argued that Rubio was good for the party as a whole because, “he knows who Tupac is.” That knowledge, she said, proved that he could connect to young voters, a demographic the GOP has typically sruggled to court.

~snip~
Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) made that very point during the show.

“It’s like lipstick on a pig,” he said. “I mean, the bottom line is, the Republicans have a core values problem, not a ‘who knows who Tupac Shakur is’ problem.”

He's dead for a long time now, like the GOP. Fitting that they'd try to raise his corpse in the body of Marco Rubio, hoping Lazarus rises from the dead.

Kwa hiyo? Seems to me like you missed the whole point dude. Hata Jesse James, John Wayne, Martin luther King. malcolm X, Ronald Regan, J.K. Nyerere, Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln etc walishakufa zamani, lakini what's common to all of these is that each in their own way left long lasting legacies and significant impact on present cultural trends, attitudes, beliefs, influences, etc.

Sasa, who're you to judge Tupac Shakur against personalities like Mohammad, Jesus of Nazareth, Plato, Aristotle, William Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, James Deen and you name it.

They may all be dead and gone, but their legacy still lives on, and they still continue to exert a whole lot of influence in the minds and lives of billions of people in the World to this day.

The GOP believes that they don't need fresh ideas, just fresh marketing. They have no intention whatsoever of performing any self analysis or changing their views one iota. Instead, they'll focus exclusively on messaging, gerrymandering, and election rigging to get the power they want. How do these guys manage to sleep at night knowing - as they surely must by now - that they're striving to rig the system in order to keep themselves in power despite the proven fact that they don't represent the majority? What do they tell themselves that makes that palatable to them?

know what the Bay of Pigs was? .."the Jury" is out on global warming.

Rubio said "The Earth has been warm before and cool before."...as if that's some kind of proof.
