Tanzania ni nchi masikini, hivi munategemea nani apande ndege kama sio watalii na govt officials na labda tajiri kama Mo aliyetekwa nyara? Kama 51% ya wanaanchi ni masikini usitegemee any airline to make any profit hata iwe local.

Kwanza kwenye Airline industry ukiangalia kwa undani kifo cha mwenzako sio furaha kabisa. Low carrier kama Fast Jet ambapo equipment zao ni size ya kati fuel consumption yao ni ndogo halafu leo hii anahesabu hasara, wewe mwenye equipment kubwa na fuel consumption yako ni kubwa kwa maana hata ukipeleke ndege matengenezo gharama kubwa na unaruka tu Dar/Mwz/Dar huku Cycle Per second ya injini inaendelea kusoma, unajihesabu upo salama kweli!!!!! This is the state of Tanzania air travel.
Fastjet Tanzania, an airline with a fleet of just 4, has posted losses since it was founded.
Since 2012, it has posted cumulative losses of over $120 million.

It is now planning to exit Tanzania by selling off their operations, but I doubt they will find any buyer.
In the first 6 months of this year, they made a loss of $8.9 million.

It's sad because they have been operating small, economical planes. Meaning Air Tanzania operating its dreamliner locally will definitely go bankrupt.

Remember ATCL has also made losses since it was founded. With 10 times less planes, they have been making losses almost as big as KQ.
Meaning as they continue to enlarge their fleet, we can expect ATCL to continue bankrupting the already broke Tanzanian government.

fastjet Group stops funding to fastjet Tanzania, in share sale agreement with local management

fastjet Group announced (16-Nov-2018) it decided to stop all funding to fastjet Tanzania and its operation in Tanzania now "represents a discontinued business". fastjet entered a conditional share sale agreement with local management in Tanzania in relation to the sale of its interest in the holding company of fastjet Tanzania. The Tanzania business delivered a trading loss of USD4.7 million in the four months ending Oct-2018, which the company attributed to the deployment of Boeing 787 capacity on domestic routes "at below cost yields" by Air Tanzania and regulatory delays in deploying additional aircraft.

With the exception of Tanzania, trading for the period was "broadly in line with management expectations". Performance improvement is ongoing in Zimbabwe and Mozambique. FedAir in South Africadelivered a trading profit while providing a base from which the fastjet brand can gradually enter the market in 2019. fastjet CEO Nico Bezuidenhout said: "Business in our continuing operations in Zimbabwe and growth markets of South Africa and Mozambique is on the right track and revenues from these markets now cumulatively exceed that generated in Tanzania... The steps taken in acquiring the fastjet brand in 2017 allows fastjet to change the deployment model in Tanzania away from one where we assume equity risk and funding obligation, in its stead aiming to deploy the brand in Tanzania on a franchise basis". Fast jet na Precission hawatouweza mziki wa Air Tanzania. Wawekezaji wao juzi kati tulikuwa tunaongea wakitupa lawana la shirika lao kwa ATCL na serikali ya TZ. Wanadai wamenyimwa route ya Kigoma. Nimewambia serikali nilazima ilinde shirika lake. Wanatapatapa sio mchezo. Wamekuwa wakiendesha hilo shirika kiuni sana. They had very poor services and we had no choice.

Kwa ushamba wako unadhani wakeshindwa ushindani??? Kwani hap Air Tanzania wana-make profit..??
