..Mimi nadhani tungesema a minimal qualification iwe ni Masters degree tena inayoheshimika, but PhD would be preffered.

A university has issued a statement on its website arguing that league tables do not "tell the true story" after it was placed bottom in a ranking produced by a national newspaper. London South Bank University, which came 113th in The Independent's guide, said the data and methodologies were "opaque and often flawed". The university said that some areas in which it did best were largely ignored by compilers: those included the part-time students who make up 43 per cent of its student body; its courses in nursing, midwifery and allied health professions; and its support for students with no family history of higher education. LSBU urged students who are considering studying at the university to note that "league tables do not tell our story, and do not demonstrate the value which thousands of graduates have gained from their study here".

Soma Comments za baadhi ya waliosoma South Bank

• Elizabeth 27 September, 2008 I have recently graduated from London South Bank with very good results. Looking at the league tables makes me fear that my results will not be valued by employers as much as it should be.
  I believe that London South Bank is very good in the subject I studied but this is not reflected in the league table.

• Daz 25 October, 2008 I currently study here and can say for sure that i am not surprised that the university is ranked down the bottom. I can't believe they are even bothering to defend themselves either. Half the staff don't even know what they are teaching and in addition, they take on to many students who haven't got a clue what they are doing. It seems there are no entry requirements for students to attend this Uni. 60% of them can't even speak a standard level of english. Imagine trying to do a degree with those students!

  I'm surprised to see the comments of the university students. I'm worried about the relative who recently got admission here. I believed that it will be a high level university. Tuition fee charged is quite high. It charged some 10.000 pounds for full course and I expected edcation of very high standard, though not the level of Oxford or Cambridge but not to that low level as commented by ex and studying students.
  It is pity that teachers don't attend classes and 60% of students can't speak English properly. Why should not such institution be closed. I'm going to inform people here about the situation asking them to avoid admission in this university.
  I'm going to write to British PM asking to direct the university admnistration to upgrade its standard.
  What I've concluded is that my relative is not going to have any good job aftercompleting his Masters. Pity my RELATIVE. GOD BLESS YOU. Try to move and shift from this university and get fresh admission else where if you make your future bright.

• Soheil 11 March, 2009 Gosh I was pretty much sure to go and continue my post graduation there after finishing my degree course but after seen these comments I think I would have to look for some where else ?!

• Ruth Masaba 21 April, 2009 I do not trust any of those bad comments about LSBU. It is one of the best University in London. From the experience of my 5 relatives, they have all succeeded and their all managers in Health and social care settings.
  Some people are just biased and some fail there courses and put the blame on the university yet it is the fault of students who do not put more effort.
  If you want to succeed, get focused, determined and selfmotivated, London South Bank University will make your dream come true. I am considering myself to pursue my career in Socialwork this year if i go through because my life can not remain the same with their high standard education and training.

• Another post-92 university hitting the dust 21 April, 2009 Not surpised at all. LSBU runs clearing weeks to bus in students from all parts of the globe. LSBU is slightly better than London Met. These are illegal immigrants camps in London. It is time for rationalisation of post-92 universities in London merging them so that we have only 2 post-universities left in London. We are soaking up problems in this small island which is getting crowded and crowded
• Jona 31 May, 2009 Illegal immigrants camps in London?? I wonder if you are paid to say this or just talk because you've nothing else to do. Teachers who do not turn up? I'm attending a masters there, if someone doesn't speak English perfectly only his/her marks are affected, and that's it. It never happened to me that a teacher didn't show up, they're all experienced and extremely helpful, I've had the best lectures I've ever had there but still, I have not attended all the courses available obviously, so maybe it's a matter of faculty or particular course. Anyway I suggest to go to see with your own eyes, don't listen to people like "Another post-92 university hitting the dust". By the way dude, that's a pretty long name.

Unajua ni kwanini wahitimu wa LSBU wanapata shida kupata kazi UK? Kwa sababu mbele ya employers wanaoneka si tu ni vilaza pia WADANGANYIFU. Shayo elimu yake ya nyuma kabla ya LSBU inawezekana ni nzuri lakini kusoma na kufundisha ikichuo inawezeka kimembadilisha jinsi ya kufanya mambo yake kama wasomi wengine.

Kwa mfano LSBU kinajulikana kwa udanganyifu

..pia anajulikana kwamba alikuwa mwanafunzi mzuri tangu O-levels na A-levels.

Tusimseme Shayo bila misingi kwani kasoma Mlimani kwenye degree za kwanza na pili. kama tunatofautiana sawa lakini huyu ni Mtanzania mwenzetu aliyejitahidi kielimu na anatakiwa kusifiwa badala ya kupewa madongo yasiyo na msingi. Ni lazima tuwe na utaratibu wa kusifiana badala ya kutafutiana sababu za kurudishana nyuma. Mtanzania akifanikiwa kielimu, kibiashara n.k ni faida kwetu wote. Vilevile kumekuwa na watu wengi kujaribu kuwa kashifu na kuwasema Watanzania wanaoishi nje bila kuwa ma misingi wakati ni Watanzania wanaotafuta masiha bora kwa familia na nchi yao.
