A TikTok video by Ugandan @hondrtamale claims that socialite Christian Asiimwe, popularly known as Don Chris , committed suicide while in prison after being arrested.
The video further claims that Don Chris left behind a note in which he cursed people he allegedly accused of always eating /taking his money.

What We Know
•Uganda Police confirmed that Asiimwe, a former director of the now-defunct Sky Pins labour recruitment agency, was arrested on August 27, 2026, over allegations of obtaining money by false pretences and fraudulent labour recruitment.
•Police said he allegedly promised job seekers positions as caregivers, cleaners and waiters in countries including Canada, the UK, Dubai and Qatar. More than 500 victims had reportedly recorded statements, with individuals allegedly paying between UGX 5 million and UGX 10 million for the promised jobs.read more
He was arrested at about 2:00am in Zana, Wakiso District, and was/is in police custody as investigations continued.
•Reports from credible media outlets also covered his arrest and the alleged job scam involving more than 500 victims. However, none of the reports reviewed stated that he had died, committed suicide.
•There is also no official statement from Uganda Police, Uganda Prisons or any other credible source confirming his death or the alleged suicide note.
•The additional claims made in the TikTok video, including the alleged note have also not been independently confirmed.
Verdict: FALSE - MISLEADING
There is no credible evidence that Don Chris committed suicide in prison or that he left behind the alleged note. The latest official information available concerns his arrest and detention over the alleged labour recruitment fraud.
