Justice Paul Mugamba of the Anti-Corruption Court ordered for the release of Prof. Bukenya in the midmorning prompting celebrations and praises of the Bugandas glory.
Prof. Bukenya was released on conditions earlier set against him before the Magistrates court but Justice Mugamba added that the accused will have to report to the Anti-Corruption Court Registrar on every second Tuesday of the month until further court orders.
Prof. Bukenya through his attorneys, Mac Dusman Kabega and Enos Tumusiime applied for the temporary release.
Chief Magistrate Ms Irene Akankwasa remanded the former MP for Busiro North after he was committed to High Court for trial and his bail cancelled.
