Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest airline, says it has lost $137 million in just one week because of the ongoing conflict involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran.
The airline has suspended flights to 10 Middle Eastern destinations and cancelled over 100 flights per week, affecting tens of thousands of passengers and cargo operations. Security concerns in the region are cited as the main reason.
Experts warn that continued instability could push up costs for airlines across Africa and disrupt trade and travel even further.
