1. POSITION: PLANNING ENGINEER (2 POSTS)

REPORT TO: MANAGER PLANNING AND DESIGN (DISTRIBUTION)

WORKSTATION: HEAD OFFICE

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Planning and designing various distribution projects and coordinate dissemination of planning techniques to the regions so as to ensure quality and reliability of power supply.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare designs of the distribution networks using international standards and TANESCO specifications to minimize outages & accidents
  • Prepare project proposals for funding distribution projects for rehabilitation and expansion of distribution networks.
  • Monitoring system reliability and performance, and provide action plan for improvements.
  • Carry out feasibility studies for power supply in the identified areas so that proper investment decisions can be done.
  • Prepare and review of short, medium and long term electricity distribution expansion plans.

2. POSITION: MAPPING ENGINEER/OFFICER (1 POST)

REPORT TO: MANAGER PLANNING AND DESIGN (DISTRIBUTION)

WORKSTATION: HEAD OFFICE

POSITION OBJECTIVE
To coordinate mapping of both the planned as well as the existing distribution network and any other relevant infrastructure of the company as may be required to enable effective maintenance of distribution networks, service line connections and customer base as a whole.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • To produce as built maps, drawings and monitor construction of distribution network in the region/districts to ensure compliance with the TANESCO.s standards.
  • To use Geographical Information System (GIS) to analyze and interpret site features; use of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and other Information Technology software to analyze the same to produce maps and charts.
  • To collect coordinates for all distribution networks using Global Position system (GPS), digitizing, plotting the maps and distribute to the respective TANESCO regions.
  • In collaboration with TANESCO Regions, ensure that the distribution network is regularly updated by mapping the new extensions of Medium and Low Voltage lines together with substations.
  • Ensure the mapping data are properly stored for references in order to facilitate preventive maintenance and further planning of the network extensions.

3. POSITION: LAND SURVEYOR (2 POSTS)

REPORT TO: MANAGER PLANNING AND DESIGN

WORKSTATION: HEAD OFFICE

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Carry out survey measurements, collect and interpret data about areas of land, including information about boundaries, buildings natural and man-made features for the purpose of planning the implementation of power distribution works which include; project planning, network construction, effective maintenance of distribution networks, service line connections including customer base inventorying as well as minimizing both technical and non-technical energy losses as per standards set by the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducting surveys, using GPS or conventional methods and extensively making use of geographical information system (GIS) to analyze and interpret site features; process the data by making use of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and other Information Technology software.
  • Responsible for both accuracy and completeness of survey or related work which are undertaken by yourself before the same is handled over to your supervisor
  • Working closely with environmental officers and sociologist in the Preparation of Resettlement Policy Frameworks (RPF) and Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs) as well as implementation of resettlement action plans to all new projects.
  • Assist in way leave acquisition and certificates of rights of occupancy (Title deeds).
  • To ensure that both the survey equipment and related tools are properly handled tor their long term performance.

4. POSITION: ENGINEER - TRANSMISSION (6 POSTS)


REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER

REPORTING OFFICE: HEAD OFFICE

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for maintenance of all high voltage transmission lines network (220 KV down to 66KV) way-leaves including towers and poles maintenance in order to maintain reliability and quality of power supply to dispatching centers and advice on safe, efficient, effective and economic solutions to improve maintenance of the line corridors of the National Grid transmission lines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct regular inspection of Transmission lines to include inter alias, to ensure power reliability from effective maintenance plans.
  • Carry out planned, emergency and preventive maintenance in all transmission networks.
  • Prepare data base for transmission lines operations and maintenance requirements.
  • Prepare the Transmission lines Department’s budget to ensure control according to the approved limit.
  • Monitoring of the funds and implementation of the infrastructures repair and maintenance works.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports on network soundness for management decisions.
  • Prepare bills of quantities, evaluation of projects payment certificates for all Transmission lines projects.
  • To ensure that safety rules and regulations, Electricity and Factory Ordinances are known and adhered and communicated effectively to below staff.
  • Giving support, assistance and advice to other Business Units and necessary expertise during implementation of other corporate projects and activities.

5. POSITION: TECHNICIANS - TRANSMISSION (18 POSTS)


REPORTS TO: TRANSMISSION ENGINEER

REPORTING OFFICE: HEAD OFFICE

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Ensure the Transmission lines are stable, and no frequent outages caused by the grid and there is effective and safe transmission of power along the grid.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise the transmission lines Teams of the respective regions.
  • Plan and design modifications and construction methodology of transmission interconnectors.
  • Plan daily maintenance schedules for the transmission lines falling under the respective regions
  • Periodic preparation of transmission lines site works reports
  • Maintain way leaves and demarcations along transmission lines
  • Supervise the inspections and trace clearing of the transmission lines
  • Attend all emergency faults occurring in the transmission line
  • Supervise the rehabilitation of transmission lines including replacement of foundation and line parts
  • Supervise all minor soil erosion protections of tower foundations.

6. POSITION: LINESMAN - LIVE LINE (5 POSTS)

REPORTS TO: SUPERVISOR

REPORTING OFFICE: HEAD OFFICE


POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Day to day transmission lines repair and maintenance to make sure the grid lines are intact to transmit power in the safest way, efficiently and no power interruptions to customers

.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) To repair and maintain the transmission line towers

b) To construct the lines and string the conductors to the towers as per company guidelines.

c) To connect power to the grid substations and ensure the grid has constant power transmission

d) To attend the emergency incidents as directed by the foreman.

e) To maintain trace clearing and way leaves of the transmission lines

f) To make routine inspections and line patrols along the transmission lines and replace any defective or missing parts/hardware

g) To maintain transmission terminations to and from the sub stations to make sure power is transmitted without losses.

7. POSITION: ENGINEER - HEAVY CURRENT (1 POSTS)

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Planning and execution of all maintenance works of switchgear equipment’s in plants, grid and distribution substations.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

a) Plan for maintenance schedules and oversee preparation of cost estimates and works orders and ensure maintenance to power systems equipment is performed in planned time by adhering working schedules.

b) Assist in planning, monitoring and controlling maintenance budget to ensure costs are maintained within approved limit.

c) Ensure proper inspection, testing of equipment and maintenance is carried out to recommended standards to ensure sustainable smooth operations of switchgears.

d) Respond promptly to emergence calls during emergence break downs to ensure such situations are contained within minimum time possible to minimize time outage.

e) Perform proper commissioning of new installations as per required standards to ensure proper systems operations.

Planning and execution of all maintenance works of protective equipment in plants, grid and distribution substations.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the transmission way leaves status and assist in the monitoring performance of the regional Maintenance team


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Inspect transmission Way Leaves to ensure they are maintained at optimal level.

b) Monitor funds and implement trace clearing of the transmission lines corridors to ensure transmission network targets are achieved.

c) Assist and advice other Business Units and expertise during implementation of other Company projects and activities.

d) Custodian of all transmission lines way leaves demarcations including installation of pillars and all necessary WARNING SIGNS and MARKS to make sure the way leaves for the entire grid network are well defined.

e) Ensure that all transmission lines way leaves are free from invaders and to operate exercise of removal of all encroachers.

f) Responsible in developing and implementing transmission lines maintenance schedules.

g) Assist in preparations of the departmental budget and responsible for applications of works orders in accordance with existing company regulations and constructions.

h) Ensure that regional teams have adequate working facilities/tools necessary for efficient performance of operational activities.

Planning and execution of all maintenance works of electronic and telecommunication equipment’s in plants, grid, distribution substations.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Plan for maintenance schedules and oversee preparation of cost estimates and works orders and ensure maintenance to communication systems is performed in planned time by adhering working schedules.

b) Assist in planning, monitoring and controlling maintenance budget to ensure costs are maintained within approved limit.

c) Ensure proper inspection, testing of electronic and communication equipment and repair is carried out to recommended standards to ensure sustainable smooth operations of communication systems.

d) Respond promptly to emergence calls during emergence break downs of communication networks/equipment to ensure communication is restored within minimum time possible.

Ensure Transmission live line maintenance works are done under strictly adherence to live line safety procedures and train live line personnel.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Establish live line training needs, preparation of budget, training scheduling and train live line personnel.

b) Prepare and update of live line training curriculum and materials.

c) Ensure safeguards are installed before undertaking any maintenance work in transmission live line.

d) Ensure pre job site meeting are conducted before commencement of any maintenance work.

12. POSITION : TECHNICIAN - LIVELINE (1POST)

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Assist to Organize and supervise preventive Maintenance of Transmission lines infrastructure under hot/Live (energized at 66kV and above) lines conditions as directed by Live line heads.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) To supervise live line transmission lines maintenance teams of the respective regions

b) To plan and organize live line maintenance works so that reliability of the network is assured

c) Prepare monthly live line maintenance programs for the transmission lines falling under the respective regions

d) Prepare and submit periodic transmission live line maintenance work reports for Management decisions.

e) To supervise the inspections by live line technology for proper plan of live line works.

f) To attend all emergency alerts reported by the inspection team along the transmission lines

g) To supervise cleaning of live line tools and refinishing works to ensure all live line tools are safe as per required standards.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Undertake Preventive Maintenance of Transmission lines infrastructure under hot/Live (energized at 66kV and above) lines conditions as directed by Live line Supervisor.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Conduct maintenance of Transmission lines by ensuring that Disc Insulators, vibration dampers, amour rods, U-bolts, plates etc. are properly fixed in a position to the required standards.

b) Ensure Safety Gears are properly worn during live line works.

c) Refinishing of hot sticks as instructed by live line foreman.

d) Clean all hot sticks before use on hot lines. Enhance safety matters in the section to ensure safety to employees, customers and equipment.

15. POSITION: LAND SURVEYOR (1 POST)

REPORTS TO: ZONAL PRINCIPAL ENGINEER DISTRIBUTION

REPORTING OFFICE: WEST ZONE OFFICE (TABORA)


POSITION OBJECTIVE

Plans, organizes, and directs work of one or more survey parties engaged in surveying earth's surface to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, mapmaking, land division, titles, mining or other purposes.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Carry out surveying and mapping studies for the company’s activities to make sure that projects planning, design, implementation and operations are executed adequately to meet Tanzanian and donors safeguard and legal requirements either independently or jointly with external consultants and in collaboration with other relevant company business units and government authorities.

b) Coordinates findings with work of engineering and other technical personnel, clients, and others concerned with project.

c) Follow up, review and comments on surveying and mapping studies carried out on behalf of the company by external consultants and ensure that they adequately conform to policies, laws guidelines and criteria set by the governmental authorities and donors supporting our projects.

d) Develops new data from photogrammetric, remote sensing records (aerial lidar survey, satellite)

e) Ensure Land surveying and mapping matters are timely and properly addressed to avoid tarnishing the company’s image.

f) Assist in developing, establishing and implementation of the Land management system i.e. policy, guidelines and programs of the Company’s undertakings in collaboration with the relevant business units in the company as well as the relevant Government Authorities.

g) Working closely with environmental officers and sociologist to all new projects in the Preparation of Resettlement Policy Frameworks (RPF) and Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs) as well as implementation of resettlement action plans

h) Ensure proper Land information management of the company infrastructures is established and maintained.

i) Responsible for the safe custody of company assets and records under the section and ensure their proper maintenance and use.

j) Assist in preparation of activities, action plan for the section and budget.


KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB:

§ Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Geoinformatics, or its equivalent;

§ Knowledge on Tanzanian Land Laws is a must

§ Training in surveying and mapping activities, Land and resettlement monitoring programmes and related training.

§ One year of experience in related field with some exposure to the engineering surveying related activities (i.e.Topographic, Hydrographic, engineering surveying sector industry is essential).







16. POSITION: SURVEY TECHNICIAN (1 POST)

REPORTS TO: LAND SURVEYOR

REPORTING OFFICE: WEST ZONE (TABORA)



POSITION OBJECTIVE

Provide technical surveying and mapping service in surveying measurements, data collection and analysis including management, maintenance and repair of surveying and plotting instruments.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Carry out surveying and mapping field work including data collection together with in situ checks of control points.

b) Interpret field results and present field work reports.

c) Take care and repair field equipment and tools.

d) Plan, organise, mobilization and supervise field work programs including demarcation works to ensure acquisition land and corridors for substation and transmission lines.

e) Prepare budgets for Surveying and mapping activities.

f) Assist the Land Surveyors in survey and mapping data collection, compilation and analysis using appropriate methods and standards.

g) Undertake special assignments in GIS and other modern tools in surveying and mapping analysis including digitising mapped company infrastructures.

17. POSITION: INTERNAL AUDITOR (1 POST)

REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL INTERNAL AUDITOR

WORK STATION: HEAD OFFICE


POSITION OBJECTIVE

Performs professional general accounting auditing work. Work involves performing, financial, compliance and projects. The performance should be in line with IPPF Standards of Internal Auditing and other prevailing guidelines and laws.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Performs audit procedures, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and proper documentation within business processes and procedures.

b) Conducts interviews, reviews documents, develops and administers surveys and prepares working papers.

c) Identifies, develops, and documents audit issues and recommendations using independent judgement concerning areas being reviewed.

d) Maintains productive business and staff relationships through individual contacts.

e) Performs related work as assigned by the Internal Audit Management.


KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB

§ Accounting Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a minimum of at least two years’ experience in internal or external auditing with good performance track record.

§ Professional certification such as ACCA or CPA is must

§ Registration with Other professional certification such as CIA is a plus

§ General knowledge on data analysis tools will be an added advantage.

18. POSITION: INTERNAL AUDITOR – INFORMATION SYSTEMS (1 POST)

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Information Systems auditor is responsible for conducting information technology audits that are designed to add value and improve effectiveness of ICT risk management, controls and governance processes. He/she will also be responsible in providing key inputs to development of ICT annual audit plan.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Working together with the financial and operational auditors in performing integrated audits and IS audit reviews.
b) Performing IS audits/internal control reviews of TANESCO information systems
c) Performing follow up-audit reviews to determine the extent to which audit recommendations have been implemented;
d) Providing guidance, training, and assistance to audit staff in using computerized audit techniques such as data analysis tools and audit management software
e) Staying current with technical changes in auditing, data processing, accounting, Utility policies, and Government regulations so that audits are conducted professionally


KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB

§ Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science from accredited college or university.

§ Must be qualified as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

§ Registration with Other professional certification such as CIA is a plus

§ Minimum of 1 year working experience in Information systems auditing.

§ Considerable skills in assessing the effectiveness of internal controls over key IT risks, identifying significant exposures, analysing transactions and other management information, and detecting changes in key risks and/or control effectiveness.

§ Knowledge of management information systems terminology, concepts, and practices.

§ Skills in collecting and analysing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusions.

§ Knowledge of the COBIT framework will be an added advantage

19. POSITION: INTERNAL AUDITOR -TECHNICAL INSPECTION – (1 POST)

REPORTS TO : PRINCIPAL INTERNAL AUDITOR- TECHNICAL INSPECTION

WORK STATION: HEAD OFFICE



POSITION OBJECTIVE

Conducting Technical Audits including and without limitation; Meter & billing audits, project management audit, Generation, Transmission and Distribution audit, performance & operations audit and inspection of construction materials. The work involves evaluation of controls, governance and risk management process on technical areas.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Assessing the effectiveness and compliance to controls over metering; billing and revenue protection processes.

b) Verifying adherence to controls and procedures over operation and maintenance activities on generation, transmission and distribution systems

c) Assessing controls over project management process

d) Ensuring that, Service Lines, Repair and Maintenance; and networks expansion works are carried out in accordance to Engineering Instruction and Approved Technical Standards.

e) Assessing compliance to regulatory rules and regulations, including customer service charter, EWURA, PPA, NEMC, Health and Safety rules, etc.

f) Advising on technical education required on matters relating to metering and billing

g) Identifying technical and billing risks and providing key input to development of the annual audit plan

h) Performing audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing documents and process, analyzing evidence, conducting interviews, prepares working papers and documenting audit work.

i) Drafting audit reports expressing opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of controls, over processes under review and develop recommendations for possible improvement or remedial measures

j) Providing or assisting in providing training, coaching, and guidance to internal audit staff in conducting audits and other audit-related issues.

20. POSITION: INTERNAL AUDITOR – MATERIALS MANAGEMENT (1 POST)

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Performs materials management auditing work which involves performing, financial, compliance, and materials management audit projects; and providing training and coaching to materials management auditors.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Conducting risk assessment and recommending control measures on identified materials management control weaknesses.

b) Investigate the causes of pilferage losses, discrepancies on stocks.

c) Verifies the accuracy of stock records, cards and bin cards.

d) Reports and advises on application of laid down procedures on store keeping, stock controls and purchasing.

e) Advising on technical education required on matters relating to metering and billing

f) Performs audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting client processes and procedures.

g) Conducts interviews, reviews documents, develops and administers surveys, compose summary memos, and prepares working papers.

h) Identifies, develops, and documents audit issues and recommendations using independent judgment concerning areas being reviewed.

i) Develops and maintains productive client and staff relationships through individual contacts.

j) Represents internal audit of organizational project teams, at management meetings, and with external organizations.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Assist maintenance and development of all ICT equipment and the provision of technical advice and support for ICT related activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Provides first-line advice service to end-users on operating systems, networks, software and hardware related problems to ensure that end users make proper of computing resource

b) Diagnose problems source through technical analysis and/or discussion with users in order to resolve problems with the shortest time possible since occurrence which is also to minimize the negative impact problems can have user productivity

c) Configure, troubleshoot and repair printers and other accessories in order to ensure smooth operations.

d) Train users with desktop applications in order to familiarize them with common tasks so that they can accomplish the tasks quickly and accurately.

e) Develop a maintenance schedule administer preventive maintenance to Office system hardware and Software.

f) Ensure that a supply of consumable items such as printer cartridge and tonners are maintained and reordered as required.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Assist in supporting Business systems and maintenance of all ICT equipment and the provision of technical advice and support for ICT related activities in the Region/Districts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Administering and maintaining corporate infrastructure, including network connectivity, Internet access, email, etc.

b) Assist in maintenance of corporate WAN

c) Assists all users with the administration of printers, scanner, workstations and other computer peripherals

d) Assists with the maintenance of the telephone system, including telephone switches.

e) Assists with the creation of new hire telephone and voicemail extensions, routing extensions to appropriate locations and.

f) Assists in supporting corporate applications; user desktops, etc.

g) Assists with basic troubleshooting, and backup.

h) Help in installation and improving computer software and network equipment.

i) Help in installation of antivirus software.

j) Help in implementation of database, application and operating system service packs and patches.

Responsible for maintenance of gas turbines equipment and its auxiliaries at the Plant through operating, switching and maintenance programs.

b) Fabrication of various machine parts and structures

c) Responsible in managing safety tools, plant equipment safety systems, and report any Fault noted in the Machines/ Engines/ Generators

24. POSITION: FITTER AND TURNER : (2 POSTS)

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Maintenance of plant machinery to ensure smooth running of all plant machinery and equipment at the station by adhering to Plant Preventive maintenance schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Repair all plant machinery under the directives from the mechanical technician

b) Fabrication of all metal equipment’s and tools required for effective machinery operations

c) Report defects on the plant machinery for the purpose of securing the components, spares and accessory.

25. POSITION: ELECTRICAL ENGINEER TRAINEE : (4 POSTS)

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Responsible for supervising the proper maintenance of equipment at the plant to ensure safe and optimal availability of the plant. These include and not limited to electrical & control systems, power generation and distribution systems, internal AC power distribution system, uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and DC Systems, grounding and protection and automation systems, fire & gas detection and alarm systems, communication, black start unit and plant lighting.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Plan, execute, control and review maintenance programs of related installations the focus of which shall be to optimize contribution of the plant units to the grid system under operating conditions.

b) Prepare and submission of accurate daily/ monthly/quarterly/ annual reports on maintenance activities.

c) Prepare spare parts requirements for equipment and electrical & protection systems for the plant.

d) Ensure company safety rules and regulations are adhered to at all times when carrying out maintenance and priority shall be on the safety of personnel and company equipment.

e) Prepare and submission of accurate daily/ monthly / quarterly/annual reports on maintenance activities.

f) Prepare spare parts requirements for equipment and electrical & protection systems for the plant.

g) Ensure company safety rules and regulations are adhered to at all times when carrying out maintenance and priority shall be on the safety of personnel and company equipment.

26. POSITION: ARTISAN - POWER HOUSE & WORKSHOP CLEANER (2 POSTS)

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Responsible for carrying out all cleaning activities of power house/workshop floor, offices, changing rooms. MV switch gears room, GPRS House, compressors and Air Instrumental units, water treatment and fire units etc.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Clean charge air filters, auxiliary equipment and other unit in the power house /workshop and around the plant.

b) Clean Generator and Operation floors.

c) Clean entrance building machinery area.

d) Clean all areas inside the power house.

e) Manage cleaning materials and keep them in order.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Responsible for ensuring running of machines/ all plant equipment as pertained to their functional procedures.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) To ensure that preventive maintenance of all plants/ equipment is being followed and carried out as per schedules and keep maintenance records, equipment status updating and submit work reports after repairs or preventive maintenance.

b) Identify all faults/ defects of the equipment and carry out repairs.

c) To advise mechanical engineer on matters regarding major repairs and overhaul of the plant and equipment.

d) Preparation of working drawings and specification of new works to be undertaken by Engineer.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Responsible for ensuring that preventive and breakdown duties of all electrical installations are executed in a manner that will promote rather than hinder business unit functions running of machines/ all plant equipment as pertained to their function procedures.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Ensure and supervise proper practice of all company safety rules and regulations when carrying out maintenance activities. The target must be to maximize safety of personal and equipment.

b) To maintain continuous inter- departmental communication in cooperation with other technician of departments and establish proper and open communication channels with mates.

c) To perform predictive, or preventive and routine maintenance of the following equipment: Turbines equipment, BOP Systems, Unit transformers, protective & administration office, and w/ shop.

d) Plan effectively work programs and procedures for breakdowns and preventive maintenance in order to restore affected equipment in the shortest possible time paying highest attention to safety of both personnel and equipment.

e) Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports on maintenance activities regarding the areas of your responsibilities.

f) To perform any other duties related for the company business as delegated to you by your Supervisor.

g) Originates CWO & RPT’s in accordance with existing company regulations , but make sure the documents are countersigned by your Supervisor before you proceed with further procurement procedures

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Responsible for budgeting and accounting functions in the Regions and Districts.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) To supervise billing, data entry, finance, supplies and meter reading sections to avoid incorrect billing and unnecessary adjustments of the bills;

b) To ensure safe custody of cash and daily banking activities in the Districts/Regions are done properly;

c) To be responsible for the correct operation and allocation of works orders and keep its records;

d) To be responsible for timely preparation of monthly quarterly and annual accounts for statutory audit;

e) To prepare and submit all returns weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual from your department to comply with company’s procedures;

f) To certify local purchasing orders, payment vouchers and be the second cheque signatory adhering to the authorization limits stipulated in the company’s financial regulations;

g) To be responsible for closure of works orders and prompt submission of certificates to Head office;

h) To process payments in accordance with the terms of payments and availability of funds;

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Implements procurement processes (goods, works and services) in a transparent, objective, economic and efficient manner, consistent with relevant policies, legislation, regulations and guidelines in accordance to Public Procurement Act no. 7 of 2011 and its regulations.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) To keep records and reports of all procurement activities performed by the procurement management unit for various functions within the Zone;

b) To promote collaboration between departments within procurements activities and facilitate the smooth interplay among all elements of the procurement process;

c) Prepares and / or reviewing of user requirement, solicitation documents, evaluation report, procurement performance reports and any other documentation related to company procurement process as may be required from time to time;

d) Assists in monitoring compliance by the company with the rules and procedures of the country’s procurement guidelines;

e) Monitors all relevant Tender documents submitted by bidders, evaluation reports and tender contracts are kept in a safe place for future reference records;

Responsible for managing store activities, controls stock and issue of materials for smooth operation in the regions and zone level.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) To manage and coordinate all stores processes in the regions to ensure availability of materials, tools and equipment.

b) To advise Accountant regarding store matters to ensure adherence to the Company and public stores regulations;

c) To ensure there is proper maintenance and control of stocks of materials for efficient issuance and delivery of the same;

d) To plan, monitor and control the activities of members of zone in order to ensure the most effective utilization of resources and achievement of objectives and targets;

e) To produce monthly reports and returns in order that the management gets informed of the regional and zonal stores performance;

f) To ensure stores data (in all forms) are kept and controlled to prevent fraud and mis-usage.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Assisting Accountant in all financial activities, including originating cheque and cash payments, banking issues, budgeting control and monitoring, revenue collection, cash withdraws, final account preparations and report writing.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) To assist in preparation, implementation and control of approved budget to ensure there is compliance to company financial regulations and accounting instructions;

b) To prepare, process and maintain all records of collections and payments as per financial regulation and accounting instruction to ensure availability and accessibility of information;

c) To prepare cheques payment vouchers and petty cash payment vouchers, to write cheques and make all approved payments in accordance to the company’s accounting instructions;

d) To prepare weekly imprest statement band petty cash statement and submit for reimbursement for records keeping purpose and ease of making management decisions;

e) To prepare CRN, DRN, JVS and any other adjustments to ensure that all errors committed are removed;

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Responsible for Construction, Maintenance and Emergency works in the Region/District.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Constructs and maintain distribution lines network in accordance with the company procedures and standards

b) Excavates holes for poles erection to ensure they excavated according to the company standards and measurements.

c) Strings electrical conductors to distribution lines in a proper manner based on Engineering Instructions and Safety Rules.

d) Connects power to the customers timely and according to the Company Standards so as to ensure customers’ safety to their lives and properties from being endangered by power supplied.

e) Attending both reported and unreported temporarily breakdowns immediately without any delays so as to ensure customers have constant power supply.

POSITION OBJECTIVES

Driving company vehicles, and carry out other vehicles operation as instructed by procurement and transport officer in support of the company’s business operations.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) To drive company vehicles to support various business operations of the region.

b) Maintains accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, transportation forms, vehicle maintenance, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records for proper management of vehicle and management decision;

c) To operate assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner observing all traffic regulations to avoid accidents and loss to the company;

d) To maintain high standard of service to both internal and external Customers;

e) To perform minor maintenance works on assigned vehicles to ensure the vehicle is in good condition all the time to support business operations in the region;

f) To maintain fuel consumption of the assigned vehicle and reports all abnormalities to the relevant supervisors;

g) To monitor the schedule for minor and major vehicle maintenance to avoid service regular interruptions;

h) To keep vehicle clean, tidy and in good working condition at all times and readily available for any assignment in the business operations;





KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB

§ Certificate in Driving issued by NIT, VETA or any other recognized institution.

§ Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV/VI).

§ Certificate of Competence issued by Police Tanzania

§ Driving license Class C, C1, C2 & E

§ One year working experience of driving from the reputable organization.


36. POSITION: STORES ASSISTANT (2 POSTS)

REPORTS TO: STORES AND TRANSPORT OFFICER

REPORTING OFFICE: SHINYANGA (1), TABORA (1)



POSITION OBJECTIVE

Responsible for receiving, issuing and recording materials in the regional store to ensure store balance is maintained all the time.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) To receive materials from Suppliers to ensure there is conformity to specifications, quality and quantity correspond to given specification and storing the same in a safe place;

b) To issue materials by insuring the quantity and material issued corresponds with the approved store issuing voucher;

c) To post issue vouchers to ensure stock balance corresponds with received/issued items at all times;

d) To update stores transactions in appropriate business systems to ensure correct data management and control to facilitate business decisions;

e) To carry-out Local Purchase Order to ensure that items purchased satisfy business needs and the company achieve value of money.

KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB

§ Ordinary Diploma in Material and Logistic Management, Procurement or equivalent.

§ Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV or VI).

§ Certificate of Basic Computer Application.



37. POSITION: ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN (1 POST)

REPORTS TO: ENGINEER

REPORTING OFFICE: NYAKATO POWER PLANT, MWANZA



POSITION OBJECTIVE

Responsible for the execution of all electrical maintenance works / activities in the Power Plant, with objective of ensuring smooth operational of power generating equipment.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Execute proper preventive maintenance of electrical equipment in a planned time to ensure emergence break downs are avoided.

b) Respond promptly to emergence calls during emergence break downs to ensure restoration of fault equipment within minimum time possible.

c) Observe safety regulations and working procedures to ensure no accidents to people and equipment.

d) Keep maintenance records, equipment status updating and submit work reports after repairs or preventive maintenances.

e) Identify all faults/defects of the equipment and carry out repairs to ensure continuity of power generation is maintained.

f) Carry out Installation and testing of electrical equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the plant.


KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB

§ Holder of Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Full Technician Certificate from a recognized Institution

§ Secondary School Certificates (Form IV/VI).
