Jessica Olsson was born in Kenya to a Swedish father and a Kenyan mother. Jessica has twin younger brothers, Martin Olsson and Marcus Olsson, who are both professional soccer players. The twins were born in Sweden, so Jessica's family must have moved there while she was still young.
Dirk Nowitzki met Jessica Olsson while he was on vacation in Scotland in the summer of 2010. Jessica must have brought Dirk some great luck, as he and the Dallas Mavericks won their first NBA title in June of 2011, with Dirk being the NBA Finals MVP.
Prior to meeting Jessica Olsson, Dirk Nowitzki was in a ten year relationship with Sybille Gerer, a women's basketball player who played on the same team with Dirk's sister Silke Nowizki. That relationship ended in 2002, but Dirk and Sybille remain friends today.
On July 20, 2012, Dirk Nowitzki and Jessica Olsson got married in a small ceremony at Dirk's Preston Hollow, Texas home. The couple also celebrated their marriage with a ceremony in Kenya in a traditional Kikuyu wedding ceremony known as Ngurario. Dirk even dressed in traditional garb for the ceremony.
After the Kenyan ceremony, Dirk and Jessica traveled to Germany for another wedding ceremony with Dirk's family and friends. Dirk and Jessica spent their honeymoon in the Caribbean.
On July 23, 2013, Dirk Nowitzki and Jessica Olsson Nowitzki had a baby daughter named Malaika. Fatherhood has had one effect on Dirk Nowitzki, it's made him a little more tired but not that much really because he can afford plenty on nanny help with the salary he makes in the NBA.
