EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES​

Our esteemed client which is based in the city of Arusha is wholly owned by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania. It was established for, among other things, to provide facilities and services for purposes of conferences, meetings, seminars, etc. The mission of our client is to promote and provide quality congress tourism services to national and international clientele for enhanced national social and economic development.

Our client is now seeking for suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions. The candidates should possess outstanding leadership abilities, analytical skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, excellent report writing skills, ability to work as team and interact well with customers, superiors, peers and subordinates. In addition, the candidates should be individuals of high integrity, self motivated and driven by a desire to excel in performance.

1.0 JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR CONFERENCES AND MARKETING

Reporting to: Managing Director

1.1 Qualifications & Experience
• Graduate in Marketing, International Relations or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
• Masters Degree in Marketing or Business Administration or equivalent from a recognised institution.
• At least seven (7) years proven experience in a management position in a reputable organisation, three (3) of which in a senior position in marketing or related field.

1.2 Duties & Responsibilities
• Head of the Conferences and Marketing Directorate.
• Chief advisor of the Managing Director in all matters related to research, planning, marketing and servicing of conferences.
• Responsible for research, planning, marketing and servicing of conferences.
• Ensuring that the Organisation’s conference facilities are used efficiently and effectively.
• Marketing the Organisation’s conferences both inside and outside the country.
• Developing and implementing a marketing strategy that will ensure achievement of the Organisation’s rolling strategic plan objectives in congress tourism.
• Developing and implementing a quality assurance strategy for users of conference facilities and services.
• Coordinating the formulation of strategic marketing plans and monitoring the performance of the plans.
• Ensuring that data on the performance of the Organisation is collected, processed on quarterly and yearly basis.
• Ensuring optimal use of IT hardware and software in the activities of the Organisation.
• Keeping abreast of trends in the fields of research, planning and marketing and recommending policies and programs to meet changing circumstances in the congress tourism market.
• Identifying and analysing the Organisation’s strengths and weaknesses, and responding to opportunities and threats in the business arena.
• Planning, developing and implementing marketing strategy, including advertising and promotion according to agreed budgets.
• Planning and implementing clients/customers retention and development strategies.
• Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Managing Director.


2.0 JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR ESTATES AND PROJECTS

Reporting to: Managing Director

2.1 Qualifications and Experience
• Graduate in Building Economics/Architecture/Civil Engineering from a recognised institution.
• Holder of Masters Degree in Business Administration or relevant field from a recognised institution.
• At least seven (7) years proven experience in a management position in a reputable service organisation, three (3) of which in a senior management position in estates/projects or related area.

2.2 Duties & Responsibilities
• Head of the Directorate of Estates and Projects.
• Ensuring that the Organisation’s physical facilities and support services meet international standards.
• Responsible for ensuring that Estates conform to the Organisation’s quality system in line with the Organisation and customers requirements.
• Chief advisor to the Managing Director on estates and projects issues of the Organisation.
• Maintaining effective working linkages with relevant agencies to facilitate implementation of the Organisation’s projects.
• Determining and enforcing productivity, quality and safety requirements based on current regulations.
• Planning, developing and implementing strategy for operational management and development so as to meet agreed organisational performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales.
• Monitoring, measuring and reporting on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales.
• Ensuring that estate and project activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
• Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Managing Director.

3.0 JOB TITLE: CHIEF INTERNAL AUDITOR

Reporting to: Managing Director

3.1 Qualifications & Experience
• Graduate in accountancy from a recognised institution.
• Holder of CPA (T) or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with NBAA in the category of Certified Public Accountant. Registration in the category of Certified Public Accountant in Public Practice will be an added advantage.
• Holder of Masters Degree in Business Administration or Finance from a recognised institution will be an added advantage.
• At least seven (7) years proven experience as an accountant/auditor three (3) of which as a senior auditor in a reputable organisation.

3.2 Duties & Responsibilities
• Head of the Internal Audit Unit of the Organisation.
• Overall in-charge of all auditing activities pertaining to the Organisation.
• Chief advisor to the Managing Director and the Board on all internal control procedures within the Organisation.
• Overseeing preparation of work programmes for the audit of directorates and monitoring audit work to ensure efficient execution of work programmes as prepared.
• Overseeing preparation and regular review of internal audit work programmes and ensuring that they are strictly adhered to at all times.
• Formulating and recommending short and medium term plans of the Internal Audit Unit.
• Assessing the degree of adherence to the Organisation’s policies and regulations by different directorates.
• Managing the set up and continuous development of the Internal Audit Unit for the Organisation.
• Liaising and co-ordinating the work of external auditors.
• Carrying out systems audit and analysis to ascertain the effectiveness of established policies, procedures and plans and where necessary established policies, procedures and plans and where necessary recommending appropriate improvements.
• Performing any other duties that may be assigned by the Managing Director and the Board.

4.0 REMUNERATION

All the above positions carry attractive packages commensurate with the qualifications and relevant experience of the would be successful candidates.
