ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our Client is a Company that aims at providing innovative, sustainable and cost-effective engineering solutions to its clients in the AMIO (Africa, Middle East and Indian Ocean) region. The company looks to expand its operations in Tanzania and has a position open below;

Deputy Project Manager (1)
An experienced Tanzanian National who is registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of high caliber and pedigree is required for this role. He/She will provide oversight on project reporting in line with key set targets for the company. He/She will also be the key focal person in local community content development objectives and engaging with local regulatory authorities and key stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

Project Management

a) Monitoring Company set Targets and Reporting
b) Manage KPIs for monitoring, controlling and reporting key specific project status
c) Follow up and reporting of progress internally and externally, including preparation of MoM
d) Manage CFT for specific project packages and Contractors including issuance of CFT, negotiation and contracts administration
e) Carry out due diligence on subcontractors

Operations

a) Assist in the development of business activities in East African regions in Oil & Gas, Mining and Construction sector
b) Stakeholder engagement with local regulatory authorities
c) Work towards local community content development objectives
d) Required to travel from time to time, for client, contractor and Company subsidiaries visit.
e) Assist in training of new recruits
f) Prepare cash flow, sales budget forecast (including CAPEX and OPEX planning)

Requirements

  • Engineering degree and registered with ERB as a Professional Engineer
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience and project management
  • Technical competencies: Contracts and Project experience (both commercial and contractual) preferably in Oil&Gas, mining or Construction sector
  • Knowledge of international quality standards on Health and Safety and Environment
  • Good understanding of Local Content Regulations in Tanzania in all sectors
Personal Attributes
  • Fluent in English (reading/writing/speaking) and Swahili
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural business development
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
