Deco: Iniesta should win the Balon D’Or… He’s
phenomenal!
Former Barcelona start Deco believes that if it
wasn’t for Messi and Cristiano dominating the
media headlines, Andrés Iniesta would be hands-
down winner of the prestigious Balon D’Or
award every time.
In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, former
Barcelona midfielder Deco was asked if he’d
stayed longer at the club, would Iniesta have
grown to become the player he is today?
“That’s crazy. Speaking of Iniesta, I only recall
one player we could compare him to and that’s
Zidane. Andrés is phenomenal! What’s
happening is that you have someone like Messi
who blinds the media with his greatness, but for
those of us inside football, Iniesta is a beast.”
