Centrist(mlengo wa kati) parties are vague and ill defined. They are characterized by what they lack in terms of ideological groundings and political principles as by what they espouses.Theoretically they are both "Armophous and eclectic".
Ideologically, they are parasitic repeating the old menshevic arguments against socialism at the same time dulling the sharp edge of criticism and avoiding practical conclussions in its arguments against capitalism.Rendering their criticism, meaningless.
    In short,they lack:-
    1.Purity of principles
    2.Clarity of position
    3.Political consistenncy and,
    4.Organisational completeness.
CDM being a centrist party has repeatedly shown the above characteristics.
