Its really interesting how we make ourself dependent completely on the outside world. In this competitive job market, we tend to make us fit to the requirement of the company or the agency. With an increasing demand of high quality of performers, the company is looking for highly qualified personnel who fits their requirement.

I have recently read an article in LinkedIn, where the author discusses how the candidates fake about their degrees in their profile. The job seekers believe that adding an extra degree to their profile can get the attraction from the huge pile.

Lets focus on the group who are successful in making through the initial selection round. It has been observed that in most cases these candidates fail to convince the recruiter either over the phone or in person, that the are eligible for the job. The recruiters can understand from their experience that the candidate is either not interested in the job or cannot produce the performance that the company is looking for. ]

I have heard this suggestion several times that the hiring managers always say "Be honest". Every candidate, at least try to be honest. So whats going wrong that one fails to recognize.

Its the power of knowing one own self- A few strong words came from Gautam Buddha a few thousands of years ago. In the turmoil of this present world, we fail to understand our own self and what we want. In most cases we tend to imitate others. We listen to the experiences of our acquaintances or from discussions in several forums and try to phrase our responses to the interview panel in a similar way. We do not ask ourselves if we possess those qualities that we are preparing in our responses.

These may be general response in broader sense, but if we take a little time to think on its relevance to our own life, it may have a complete different impact. When the interviewer ask if we can do certain task, in many situations, if we do not possess that skill, we say that it is possible for us to learn and implement.

There's the catch. We do not actually ask ourself whether we are truly capable of acquiring these skill we are guaranteeing. Yes of course the employer wants energetic persons. We do not know everything. But if we do not ask ourself, we lack the confidence in our tone, which the employer sitting in the front table can recognize. This probably gives them the feeling that the candidate is not ideal for the position. May be the candidate is honest, may be the candidate can produce the same, what he/she promises in the interview, but since they did not ask their inner soul, they lack the confidence in their voice, which result in the failure of convincing the recruiter.

So the #BestAdvice that helped me to understand the reasons behind all these failures came from the mouth of a great teacher of ancient times.

We can only know ourselves truly when we calm down and look deep into our heart to understand what we actually want and not what the world want. Only then our mind can show us the path and strategy to adjust ourselves and our needs with rest. Unless we know our own self, we cannot expect to fit ourself with the outside world.

jerrytz am getting your point, basically the problem starts from our basic education which does not provide such confidence, mind you if you miss that in your earlier stages you cannot get it in colleges or universities unless you worked hard to improve.
