Ndio maana nimekwamba ya kwamba labda haulewei maana ya Mega City!
Kuwa na Mega City siyo kitu cha kujivunia na wala MegaCity SIYO maendeleo bali ni makosa ambayo baadhi ya nchi zenye MegaCity zimefanya.

Na Nchi zote zenye Mega City leo hii wana matatizo makubwa sana na kama wangepata kuwa nafasi ya kwetu wasingependa kuwa na Mega City, bali wangesambaza Rasilimali na maendeleo nchi nzima ili wawe na Miji mingi yenye ukubwa wa wastani na yenye kutoa ubora wa maisha kwa watu wake!
Asante sana mkuu,na ni wazi kabisa kuwa afrika hii kama ina mega cities labda haitazidi mitano,umenyambua vizuri mno mkuu.
 
Politics ndio imeharibu kabisa mji huu..unywaji wa pombe kali kwa vijana...matumizi ya bangi kupita kiasi..hakuna other issues kujsdili maskani zaidi ya chadema na ccm. Pub kila kona ni ujanja sana kuanza kunywa asubuhi asubuhi...nimepatembelea hii wiki ya pili..ila kuna kazi ya ziada kufanya.
Duh! Umenifurahisha mkuu,kwa hiyo huko hakuna wafanyakazi?watu ni kulewa tu? Hizo pombe wanagaiwa bure tu? Ulitembelea mtaa gani huo na mimi nikafanye utalii wa ndani?
Siyo kwamba huyo mwenyeji wako ndiye mlevi mbwa kweli? Ndiyo ukadhani wote wako hivyo?
 
ivi unakumbuka stend ya mabasi ya mikoani ilikuwa kisutu na mnazi mmoja kwa dar hadi mwanzoni mwa miaka ya 2000? jiji limetanganzwa hata miaka mitano halijafikisha mnaponda tu.

Truth to be told on economic perspectives,Arusha city does not need international airport i would build one in Dodoma or Mtwara than in Arusha since the proximity of Arusha to KIA (roughly > 1 hour) makes another airport at the vicinity a white elephant! If KIA is overwhelmed then should be expanded as KIA has ample land reserved for that lets be genuine to ourselves on this

Tanzania: Kikwete - Strategic Projects On Track



PRESIDENT Jakaya Kikwete has said most strategic projects as listed in the National Five-Year Development Plan (2011/12-2015/16) are well on target and due for completion this year.

He mentioned the Mtwara and Songosongo gas pipeline to Dar es Salaam as one example, saying the mega project is expected to be completed this month.

Once completed, it will enable the nation attain its goal of producing 2,780MW of electricity next year.

"Plans to acquire land for construction of equipment to process tapped gas to Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for marketing purposes are still going on well," the president told the nation.

Mr Kikwete added that implementation of the rural electrification project is also on track and by November 2014, a total of 3,836 villages had already been connected while another 1,500 villages will be connected by June, this year.

"Therefore, 5,336 villages out of 12,423 villages on Tanzania Mainland will have been connected to electricity, which is equal to 43 per cent of all villages in the country to receive electricity," he said.

The president said that in the near future, coal from Mchuchuma and iron ore from Liganga will start being used for the development of the nation and people in Ludewa.

"All preparations have been completed for January 2015, when construction of the mines and electricity processing machinery in Mchuchuma and in Liganga, will begin," he explained.

He commended the National Development Corporation (NDC) and Sichuan Hongda Company of China for arriving at that stage, adding that it is expected that the project will provide 33,000 employment opportunities, both direct and indirect.

The president mentioned other projects ready for takeoff as the construction of special economic zone in Mbegani, Bagamoyo District, where China Merchants Holdings International and Oman State General Reserve Fund will start construction of the EPZ in July, this year.

Another strategic project is construction of tarmac roads and rehabilitation of other roads all over the country, the work for which will continue this year to ensure that the country is fully connected and transportation made easier.

About 19 tarmac roads of 1,459 kilometres were constructed in 2014 in Ruvuma, Mbeya, Rukwa, Kagera, Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Tanga, Morogoro, Arusha, Tabora and Shinyanga regions.

"Construction is still going on for 24 other roads in Dodoma, Iringa, Mbeya, Kilimanjaro, Rukwa, Simiyu, Katavi, Tabora, Mwanza, Dar es Salaam, Kagera and Coast regions and will be completed any time in 2015.

Preparations for commencing work on four other roads are going on well," Mr Kikwete told the nation. The president said efforts to improve air transport services and the central railway line have continued successfully -- and in 2014, four locomotives were rehabilitated while 22 passenger and 274 cargo wagons were purchased.

"These wagons have started arriving in the country between November and December, this year (2014) and between January and May 2015, we are expecting to receive 13 new locomotives," he said, noting that such improvement of railway transport is going along with renovation of the railway line.

Mr Kikwete added that air transport has continued to grow and in 2014, the number of passengers arriving in the country's airports increased from 2.5 million in 2013 to 3.5 million by September 2014, an increase of 8 per cent.

He said construction of Terminal III of the Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) is going on well and once completed, it will service an average of 8 million passengers per year.

Renovations are also going on at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), Mwanza, Songwe, Bukoba, Tabora and Kigoma airports. The renovation of Shinyanga and Sumbawanga airports will begin this year.

Though that 8% is worrying cause definitely is over 20% increase JNIA is receiving over 3 million passengers per year right now msemakweli
