Vermaelen back training in one month

Centre back Thomas Vermaelen is expected to be back in training with the first-team squad in around a month. Vermaelen has undergone a minor procedure to remove an inflamed plantaris tendon from his left ankle. This is the same treatment that he had on his right ankle in January this year and has nothing to do with his Achilles tendon. The action was taken after consultation with specialists who advised this was the best thing to do to prevent it becoming a persistent problem.

Injuries, suspension.....the worse possible start of the season. What lies ahead for us, who knowns, maybe wenger!. But there is always hope cause we have the best young tallent in the league!!! - Frimpong, Ryo Miyaichi, Wilshere, Alex Chamberlain....

CAPTAIN MARVELS ... Arsenal now boast six international captains in their squad

JUST when misfiring Arsenal need a leader on the field, SIX come along at once. Amazingly, the team accused of lacking a true general in their ranks now boasts half-a-dozen current international skippers. They are Thomas Vermaelen, Aaron Ramsey, Tomas Rosicky, Yossi Benayoun, Andrey Arshavin and Chu-Young Park.

Yet the Gunners' new captain, Robin van Persie, does not wear the armband for Holland. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said: "All I can say is we have, I think we counted, six or seven captains, so they're all big personalities. I will discover who, like you. "I have some idea but I wouldn't like to prioritise one more than the other."

Najua wenye wivu utawaona tu .. ... ... ... safi sana ngoja tuanze EPL chacha.

Keeping his cool: Arsene Wenger observes matters from the touchline

The goal, which emerged unbidden from the 40th minute, will take its place in every end-of-season collection of oddities.
It started with Theo Walcott slashing wildly at a ball which sailed hopelessly wide yet somehow stayed infield. Walcott was seeking somebody to blame when the madness began. The Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm collected the ball and trotted out to the right edge of his area before rolling it to Angel Rangel. The defender, blissfully unaware and with his back to Vorm, was running upfield when the ball struck his heel and spun off to Andrey Arshavin. Recovering his composure, and remembering not to laugh, Arshavin swiped at the chance from the tightest of angles and saw it float into the yawning net.

Wenger later disguised his blushes with an elaborate understatement: 'There was an element of luck about our goal,' he said. And he was unsurprised by the sniggers which followed. … … … …
