Kalasha awards have become Kenyas Oscars. It is a meeting point point of all that is creative on and off the screen.
The gala event is held annually to recognise people making a difference in film and TV as well as encouraging them to create more local content.
While artists are known to favour an alternative look, they put their best foot forward to walk the Kalasha Red carpet.
It turns out they actually clean out well when and if they choose to.
Kenyas film industry has shown a tremendous growth in the past few years and fashion designers have taken notice.
This years red carpet was markedly different from last years in the abundance, variety and quality of gowns, dresses, tuxedos on display. Last years fete featured African wear of questionable quality and limited creativity.
African print was well represented in this year's event.

- This years red carpet was markedly different from last years in the abundance, variety and quality of gowns, dresses, tuxedos on display. Last years fete featured African wear of questionable quality and limited creativity.
- While lauding the efforts of the stars to entertain on and off the screen, we hope that this year event serves as the silver lining to Kenyas fashion industry to innovate and create outfits that are classy versatile worthy of this calibre of an event.
