The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) Second National Vice Chairperson Female, Anita Annet Among, skipped the party's 5th Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting held at State House, Entebbe and chaired by NRM Chairperson Kaguta Museveni.
Among sent apologies through a letter addressed to the Chairperson, Kaguta Museveni, saying that she could not make it as she was currently indisposed.
The letter was read out loud at the meeting.
It was at this meeting that the ruling party’s central executive committee endorsed Jacob Oboth-Oboth and Thomas Tayebwa for the speaker and deputy speaker of parliament positions respectively.
Among had initially expressed interest in returning for a second term as speaker of parliament but withdrew from the race.
She is currently under investigations of corruption, illicit enrichment and abuse of office.
