I had this suspicion that 130cm offset th scalar ring can nab buds that are close to horizon better than 180cm pf or 240cm pf using C-Band LNB. freddygaz has proved me right. Can someone try Asiasat 5 & 7?
Increase signal Q to 50% for reliable service because i am guessing you are on Sp**24Thanks very much after I increased the signal to 33% I then inputted the keys manually as advised and behold it opens.
I so much appreciate and thanks also GIDEN for the advised.
It can't beat 180pf or 240cm because brother you can't compensate dish size with anything. congrats for that. I think you are the first in Kenya to try that.Hello all...over the week I got to try the mystery of the said conical scarler ring
I managed to lock on MTN channels on NSS 7 at 20W with a 130cm offset getting quality of 28% on Qsat...funny thing am getting picture even if the quality drops to 6%... That's
because the to needs just 1db to get a lock
I tried the same on 90cm bt didn't get a lock..Bt the meter registered some noise showing a 100cm would do fine n lock
Swung the lnb with the scaler ring onto Mesat 91.5°E n got promising results locking on toto 3960V hosting the History HD with a quality of 83% on the Qsat
The conical scaler can be got at Digital life electronics...nyc weekend all...

If Apstar is primary then Is20 is below it. And if Is20 is primary then Apstar is above itHello members. Anyone who has combined apstar7 & is20 being the primary? Please i would like to know the following:
1. Whats the distance of the secondary lnb from the tip of the primary(is20) lnb and to what direction?
2. Do both run perpendicular to the center of the dish or the secondary tilts abit? Are both parallel to each other?
3. From the front of the dish, where is the secondary lnb?
I struggled over the wkd, my meter never gave any change on the pitch.
I will appreciate your assistance.

Jua kali it is. You know manufacturer makes a single dish, single lnb[emoji2]Thanks Giden. I want my is20 as primary so that i can try adding a third lnb(nss) in future.
Now, any idea of getting the brackets from any shop, or i go jua kali?
Last year around November I wanted to purchase scalar ring to use it on my 130cm offset to get NSS7 at 20w but a friend who is telecom engineer informed me that it will not work since the beam is out of reach. The Nigerians get it at 49% yet their beam is at optimum. That's a great project and I wud give it a thumbs up....to nab the two sattelites we need a 350cm upwards reflector...as on 2014 Asia sat 5&7 C band beams they dropped abit covering parts of East Africa particularly Kenya as the below map shows...
The two satellites harbour good packages which have SD ad HD channels alike bringing entertainment n all sports live Dish TV&Star Tv...the funny thing the decoder cost and subscriptions are very pocket friendly as the most expensive package in Dish TV package retails at 7$ per month 🙂 🙂
Food for thought let's move from minor Asia (B*in sports) to major Asia (Dish TV & Star TV)
My SRT4922 was affected by the lightening this affected the HDMI port. Where can I get the replacement part for the affected IC.

Use those as guides but they are borrowed not my setup. Note the LNB holder.
Happy hunting

I have not identied the IC number but is the one controlling the HDMI port of the receiver.I'd start with the electronic shops along Luthuli Ave. If you are in Nairobi and Kenya Electronics, Waumini House in Westlands. If you've already identified the IC to replace.
Can you please tell us about freesat v7 combo powervu keysUnfortunately no way if your interest is to view two different channels. But you can solve the carrying of decoder and folding wires by connecting the decoder to upto 3 TV sets using HDMI out, Video out and RF out lines. However, this will not give you what you want as the 3 TV sets will be showing same channel. Solution is dual or quad lnb + two decoders and you are sorted.
Save the appropriate keys in a clean flash (no virus). The keyword here is appropriate. Insert it in the usb port on the stb. On the remote, press menu, move with the right arrow key till you find "Conditional Access" sub-menu. Hit ok to highlight this sub-menu then key in 6666 on the remote. A "Edit key" will appear. Select that. A menu will appear with all the encryption systems listed, among them pvu. Hit the red button on the remote, corresponding to the "Import" option at the bottom of the GUI. It will prompt you whether you want to import and you press yes. Exit, sit back, relax and enjoy.
I have not interacted much with this stb. I only tested it on the pvu once and gave it a clean bill of health as far as pvu is concerned. I understand it has autoroll capability too but I have not tested this part. Can you please tell us about freesat v7 combo powervu keys
Yes, tried, tested and approved.Hello there,
So after all one can use a C-Band LNBF on an offset dish?
