I have a 1.8m dish and a mpeg 2 decorder..I want to know if I can nab an australian sat..is it possible and are there good channels

Way back they used to be there..( NTV NTV U kbc ). but with interference from some monopolies you had to have a 8ft dish...

The tp is very strong. My guess is that your Decoder cannot handle the very low symbol rate of 2150. Most decoders struggle with these kind of very low symbol rates. What type of decoder are you using?

Using SRT 4922.This can not be the reason I am getting Sayare with symbol rate 1400.

Free Radio from Australia - LyngSat

Use SatBeams - Satellite Coverage Maps - Sat Footprint Intelsat 10-02 (Intelsat 1002, Intelsat Alpha-2, Intelsat X-02, IS-1002) / Thor 5 (Thor 2R) / Thor 6 (Intelsat 1W, IS-1W) to find out if their beams are receivable in your location.

For instance, one of the satellites, Optus D1 at 160.0E has its footprint as below:

That said, you can receive Radio Australia English broadcasts via Intelsat 20 @68.5E 3787v3617.

yeh buddy,
there area lot of tutorials on the internet you cant even read
I can guide you if you so wish,but the main problem...that is 90% of the server thing depends on the reading of the card in an emulator....some packages are quite easy...others are though nuts to crack
the rest is software installations and networking...you also need a bit of knowledge in linux

I have 10ft (3m) mesh dish that is currently idle after I installed 6ft solid dish to nab Eutelsat 36deg E, Intelsat 20 (both C and Ku) and Intelsat 906 (C band).

The 10ft dish is now redundant and I am thinking of the best satellite to nab using this dish. Can anybody advise which satellite should I direct at in order to receive good channels (sports, entertainment, movies, etc)? Again with this mesh dish is it possible to install ku lnb? My location is Dar es Salaam.
