uuummmm, boss ..... I think you are adding more darkness than light. I checked google, lungsat and flysat and I didnt find any sat called Eutelsat 16E at 16 degrees West. All references to Eutelsat 16E point to eutelsat 16A at 16 degrees East. Eutelsat 16 A/B/C are all referenced as being co-located at 16 degrees East.
all satelite on 36 degrees and above are all on eastern side when you are on equator. 36 degrees and below are on western side.
my friend you must understand these birds first eutelsat 16e is actually situated west and not east as ur assumption it is located at 16' west n actually called eutelesat 16A , there is also 16B,C etc you never read page before and pictures that brought that comment.

Really? I thought Equator is LATITUDE ZERO DEGREES and divides the earth into North and south. East and west is in regard to prime meridian, i,e LONGITUDE ZERO DEGREES. satellite positions are given in relation to the longitude in which they lie (and not the latitude). Equator is not a variable factor. never the less, depending on your satellite of interest, you could be in its west although you are in east. Example, Here in kenya, we are at west of NSS 12 at 57 east. However, this should not blur the absolute truth that both we and the sat NSS12 are in East of Greenwich meridian. This is the same principle used in coming up with world time. Internationally, time is given in GMT i,e Greenwich Mean Time. Longitude zero degrees is given as reference in both satellite locations and time. Corrections and additions are treasured. see you in ASAS hospital. Thanks.all satelite on 36 degrees and above are all on eastern side when you are on equator. 36 degrees and below are on western side.

Guys I think there is a problem here. Let us try to give the correct information. I disagree with the use of 36 degrees as the point to dertermine which satellite is in the East or West. I think it is rather the Greenwich Meridian which is at Longtitude 0 degrees. This is the reference point so all satellites are located on the Equator and therefore all the satellites on the East of Longtitude 0 degrees (Greenwich Meridian) are in the East e.g. SES 5 @ 5 degrees East, Amos 5 @ 17 degrees, Hotbird 13 degrees East etc. In the same manner all satellites on the West of Longtitude 0 are in the West e.g. Eutelsat 5 West A at 5 degrees West, Eutelsat 7 WA, 8WC,Nilesat 102 & 201 at 7 degrees west etc. I hope this clears the air.
I think ses5,amos 5,hotbird are west and not east. Longitude 0 degrees as stated is the reference point. For as in kenya actually 38 degrees is halfway(centre) thats why paksat faces sky directly.
Amos 5 is 17' East watch out
follow above procedure, but disable pin before using it. use safaricom line
Nope it dsnt just Be*n,MBC HD,STAR Movies and Nat geo at 7w...if we can nab 13E or 19E more goodies 😉 nyc eveningDoes this ISAT SMART ACE decoder open DSTV channels cause I saw it has AVARTACAM HD account
It seens to be similar to QSAT
Amos 5 is 17' East watch out
Hello bro, Amos 5, Ses 5 and Eutelsat 16A are all located at the east. I know what is confusing you. That you are recieving those satellite while your dish is facing west doesn't make them to be located at the west. What of the person who is in Isreal that is recieving the same satellites while facing the north, will the person say that those satellite is located at the north? Or will the person that is in South Africa say that those satellite are located at the south? What of lyngsat, flysat, are they making mistake? We are lucky to be in Nigeria where one have to count from zero either east or west, infact we who are on west africa that are at the center of the equator are experiencing the same thing. Counting of satellite starts from zero degree, either east or west inspite of any side where your dish is facing while recieving the satellite.all satelite on 36 degrees and above are all on eastern side when you are on equator. 36 degrees and below are on western side.

:smile-big:When i say West its about azimuth of the said satellite and not 17 degrees East.
and anything above 35 degs longtitude is on your ...?The geographical position of my town Eldoret is given as 0° 31' 0" N, 35° 17' 0" E. So any satellite below 35° is on my west because am just 0° 31' 0" North of the Equator.
