A lot of eastern Europe after suffering under Soviet oppression chose to join NATO in fear and for protection from future invasions by Russia, which with Ukraine proved their fears correct.

Russia is acting like a bully instead of being diplomatic to it's neighbors, further pushing them into NATO'S hands.
Kudos to Zelensky he has exposed unseen weaknesses of Russia.
