In 1971, the United Nations General Assembly suggested that the day be observed by Member States as a public holiday.

Despite a number of successes that has proved by UN still there is a failure which has been witnessed in the days of its lives as it described below;

UNO AND WARS

Since human being has in progress to form societies there have been a struggle for what so termed scarce resources nevertheless of the problem in this world is not scarcity of a resources but it is in how resources are exploited, divided and distributed. This has made the struggle for possessions that enhances into enmity, social struggle and eventually wars for the whole of human race the greatest cause of wars has been for economic reasons.

For the entire life of UNO no even a single instant has been experienced without wars and the way in the direction of it is rocky since there is the wars in one side is economic advantage in another side.

These are roughly wars in the whole world in Africa Hot Spots: Central African Republic (civil war), Democratic Republic of Congo (war against rebel groups), Egypt uprising against Government, Libya war against (Islamist militants), Mali war against (Tuareg and islamist militants), Nigeria war against (Islamist militants), Somalia war against (Islamist militants), Sudan war against (rebel groups), South Sudan (Civil war)

EUROPE: (9 Countries and 71 between militias-guerrillas, separatist groups and anarchic groups involved Hot Spots: Chechnya (war against Islamist militants), Dagestan (war against Islamist militants), Ukraine (Secession of self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic and self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic)

MIDDLE EAST: (8 Countries and 186 between militias-guerrillas, separatist groups and anarchic groups involved) Hot Spots: Iraq (war against Islamic State Islamist militants), Israel (war against islamist militants in Gaza Strip), Syria (civil war), Yemen (war against and between Islamist militants)
AMERICAS: (5 Countries and 25 between drug cartels, militias-guerrillas, separatist groups and anarchic groups involved) Hot Spots: Colombia (war against rebel groups), Mexico (war against narcotraffic groups)

Number of Countries involved in wars is 64, Number of Militias-guerrillas and separatist groups involved is 584.
According to answer.com About 500 people die in a day so about 1,82500 people die in a year.

ASSASSINATIONS

On 17th January 1961 Patrice Lumumba, first and only elected Prime Minister of Congo, was murdered. The environments of his death continued a mystery, the identity of his killers unknown. A 1975 U.S. Senate investigation led by the late Frank Church (D-Idaho) found there was "a reasonable inference" that Eisenhower ratified Lumumba's assassination, but the committee stopped short of a conclusive finding.

According to journalist George Lardner Jr. in the Washington Post, an August of 1960 meeting of Eisenhower with the National Security Council lends to suspicions regarding U.S. contributed. Since the death of Lumumba there is no time that Democratic Republic of Congo has been in Peace.
UNO didn't learn a lesson from assassination, there is still occurrence of alike assassinations that costs a millions of people lives causalities and destruction of properties and refugees As well as social unrest example Sadam Hussein in Iraq, Muamar Ghadaffi in Libya this is failure of UNO for the whole of her life.

There is a number of specialized agent of UNO which is generally discussed its failures when we are going to enter UN day example those dealing with famine and hunger, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) there is more than 900 million people lack of food more that 20000 people die of hungry every day.

International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). If we may ask where is Malaysian flight 370 the answer will be is still a remarkable shame in the agency history.

International Labour Organization (ILO) from 1968 to date human generation has accessed education than ever, the hurting truth is the fastly increasing rate of unemployment especially in developing countries.

International Maritime Organization (IMO) reveals that 23,000 Immigrants Have Died Trying To Reach The European Union In The Last 13 Years.
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The greatest failure is that there is a deception spread that western culture is the world best culture and the world is mandated to follow it example in when Uganda government passed the laws against mono sexuality USA provoked barriers but this agency didn't say anything.

International Development Association (IDA), Where's development?
International Monetary Fund (IMF); there has been multiple debt crises that exist in the world today and developing countries are claiming of conditions that are attached in the debts example in SAP program there were such conditions like reduction of trade barriers, privatization, free trade, free market and made general lives of people around even harder.

Such trend gives the UN not else but a wake up call on immediate need for change, the international forum has been left with very short time to deliver or never at all, sixty nine years is too long period for people to keep on waiting for a biblical manna!
