Although you may not believe it, there are certain habits that you have fallen into, that are killing your intelligence in a way that is not only setting you back but also stopping you from being able to accomplish certain things, such as attaining the goals you have set for yourself.

Below are some habits that are holding you back, and possibly causing you to make poor choices in your life

1. Fear: If you are always afraid, you never try. Plain and simple. It is likely you are going to fail more than once, if you have not done something before but, if you never try, or never attempt to Learn something new because you are afraid, you are never going to fail, you are never going to get better, and you are never going to learn new things.

You must accept failure as potential outcome and still choose to do the action anyways.

2. Lack of confidence: If you always believe you are going to mess up and you lack the confidence necessary in the things you do, you can never learn and grow.

Having confidence in yourself, even if you are doing something wrong, allows you to learn, and grow and it allows you to move forward. This will help build intelligence, and allow you to learn new things in life.

3. Loneliness:
Our brains are made for socialization, meaning we need to connect with other people in order to think and function properly.

Studies show that people who socialize perform better on cognitive test than those who don't.
Having friends with whom you interact with regularly can offer you a reduction in stress, ultimately helping to enhance your memory and mental activity.

4. Drinking Alcohol:

Alcohol hinders your ability to comprehend and grasp subjects. The infrequency of alcohol consumption is your best bet in preserving a portion of your brain cells and reduces the risk of total destruction.

Drinking every once in a while will not kill all your brain cells, but you should know that alcohol will hinder, and kill your brain cells, making it harder to learn new things.

5. Sleep deprivation: Though science has not fully discovered yet to what extent your Brain needs to sleep.

Continous lack of sleep harm your memory and has long term effects on your brain.

Staying up all night to study for an exam is probably not the best idea, if you are looking to Ace the test. Being sleepy negative, affect both your short and long term memory, attention and planning skills.
