About 1,000 Makerere University students could miss the January graduation after lecturers withheld their results over unpaid salary arrears, Daily Monitor has learnt.
The lecturers, many of them contracted on part-time basis, are reportedly demanding about Shs500 million. Lecturers supervising graduate students are also hesitant to assess the research work, placing them among the possible victims. The affected students are mainly from the faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Economics, Law, Technology and the School of Education.
