I agree with Zitto on the whole issue of allowance, but at the same time there is a need of the Parliament to address the role of a MP. MP's are forced to accept such allowances and not question the legitimacy of such act based on the expectation they face in their constituents. For instance, it is not surprising to see people lining outside an MP's house asking for personal assistance. I have witnessed people lining to ask MP's for their kids school fees. What is really needed is civil education for the people so that they understand an MP is to serve the entire community and not individual personality. MP's need to discourage this habit of paying their way to the parliament by bribing individuals.


Without a civil education whereby both MPs and citizen understand their role, we will continue to see this trend. Wananchi need to understand that it is their right and responsibility to question an MP and be part of all development projects in their communities. Wananchi need to be educated to understand that an MP is just a facilitator and not an ATM. MP also have to firmly discourage anyone asking for personal assistance.

Without addressing the expectations that MP's face in their constituents then MP's would continuing rewarding themselves with these allowances.

Nadhani sasa ni wakati wa CDM kunufaika na suala hili la posho. Chadema mnapaswa kusimama imara juu ya usaliti huu kwa wananchi tuliowachagua kutuwakilisha. Hatukuwatuma mwende kudai posho bali kudai maendeleo yetu. Sasa CDM unganeni na Zitto katika kujitofautisha na waroho wa kodi zetu. Simameni imara na kamwe msipokee posho hizo. Hata January Makamba ambaye ni mwana-ccm amekataa kuzipokea posho hizo. Wana CDM wanaong'ang'ania usaliti muwe tayari kuachana nao, akina Shibuda, akina Selasini n.k. Hata Wabunge wa CDM mkibaki wachache mnaweza kupambana na kuiokoa nchi hii mikononi mwa mafisadi. Chadema, chonde chonde, wakati wenu ni huu. Mkitumia tukio hili vizuri 2015 ni yenu. Watanzania wengi tumebaki tukiwategemea nyiye. Tumeshatambua kuwa Chadema kimebaki chama pekee cha upinzani. Wengine Cuf, NCCR, TLP na UDP ni sehemu ya chama tawala ccm.
