Worst/Best Presidents Ever!

And yes, though there is no such thing as perfect leaders, we can be sure of a few things that good leaders have:

[1]A vision of the future (where he/she want to take the nation).

[2] The ability to articulate that vision and encourage others (followers/citizens) to jump into that vision, work hard on it, until the vision is achieved.

[3] (deleted): not relevant in the 21st century.

Now, Making the Grades:

First, my all-time favorite presidents in the world:

1. Thomas Sankara (Burkina Faso) "A-"
2. Alexander Lukashenko (Belarus) "B+"
3. Julius Nyerere (Tanzania) "B-"
4. Evo Morales (Bolivia) "B-"
5. Paul Kagame (Rwanda) "B-"

Second, the worst Presidents of all-time:

1. Hassan Ahmad AL BASHIR (Sudan) "D+"
2. "Mtalii" Jakaya Kikwete (Tanzania): "D-"
3. Idd Amin "Dada" (Uganda) He gets " F"
4. (deleted): He also gets "F"
5. "Mad" Bob Mugabe (Zimbabwe): I don't even know what to give this guy. He doesn't even deserve a " K-".

P.S. Ali H. Mwinyi (Tanzania): was # 9 on this list.

Inapokuja kwenye sifa za kiongozi bora, kinacho matter zaidi ni utendaji bora wa kazi (sio maneno matupu). Kadhalika pia uwezo wa huyo kiongozi kuchonga vision of the future (kwa nchi yake) na kuwahimiza/shawishi wananchi wake kufuata hiyo vision.
Ndo maana utashangaa kuona nimpempatia Sankara "A-" kwasababu alikuwa ana-possess almost hizo qualities zote nilizozitaja hapo juueven though he had some serious personal flaws compared to Mwl Nyerere aliyeramba "B-" .

Ndugu yangu mimi naona kumwachia mtu mmoja achonge vision ya nchi kubna hatari sana. Cha ajabu kinachoweza kutokea ni kuwa anaweza kuchonga vision kwa maslahi yake binafsi na sio ya nchi as whole. Angalia sasa hivi vision ya JK ilivyo. Ana lengo la kutengeneza mabilioni 100 may be Chenge and Lowassa type, sasa hiyo ni hatari. Ni vizuri tukiwapa wataalamu kazi hiyo na serikali yoyote inayoingia madarakani itekeleze mipango iliyoandaliwa na wataalamu.

For both your first and second list (excluding Nyerere); I see you comparing desports! Your socialist/communist ideas led you draw such a comparison; most of those were/are worst leaders!

the father and probably the best president to come out of africa is none other then OSAGYEFO KWAME NKURUMAH.he had his drawbacks,but it is an undisputed fact that he was ahead of his times.from the word go,he knew ghana would always remain a neo colony unless it industrialised.he cut production of consumer goods,and ploughed all the capital available to the building of the akosombo dam.ghanians suffered,but he argued it was for the future generation,once electricity was available he argued ghana would take the great leap forward,unfortunately before his dream was fullfilled amilitary coup cut his tenure short.historians and economists alike have now realized nkurumah was right,the only problem,being the generation then did not understand him.such was his standing,immediatly after his overthrow,sekou toure appointed him honorary vice president of GUINEA

Kagame is the best. Kitendo cha yeye cha ku-turn around economy ya Rwanda pamoja na kuwa na genocide miaka michache iliyopita kinastahili pongezi. I wish he was the president of Danganyika. Labda, angetupeleka mbali mno ikizingatiwa kwamba sisi hatujapata maafa makubwa compared to what he's gone through.

Well, Mandela was a President of exceptional personal qualities ( i.e. his capacity to extend forgiveness kwa Makaburu and all those other things...); but with all due respect [I know this may sound silly to some of you], ukiachilia dhamira yake ya kupigania ukombozi wa mtu mweusi (ambapo hata hilo tu alishindwa), he had no clear vision of where he wanted to take his country. Besides, alikuta Makaburu wameteng'eneza kila kitu. So this Mandela guy probably deserves a "C+"

Son of Alaska, no one dispute the fact that Nkrumah tried hard to do great things for his country Ghana. But also remember that for the most of the things he attempted, he failed in a very, very big way!
