Polisi Wilayani Ibanda wavikuta vichwa viwili vya binadamu (Mwanaume na Mwanamke) vikiwa vimetupwa shambani maeneo ya Kyegwisa ambapo ni kilomita tatu kutoka Ibanda mjini.
Katika uchunguzi wa awali, Polisi wamewaeleza waandishi wa habari kuwa mauaji hayo yatakuwa yalifanyika mbali na eneo ambalo vichwa hivyo vimeokotwa. Hata hivyo, Polisi na watu waliojitokeza katika kushuhudia tukio hilo hawakuweza kuvitambua vichwa hivyo ni vya nani.
Aidha, tukio hili limetokea baada ya siku kadhaa kupita tangu miili miwili ya mwanaume na mwanamke isiyo na vichwa kukutwa katika msitu wa Kikoyo uliopo Buhanda karibu na wilaya ya Kitagwenda ambapo kwa mujibu wa Kamishna Mkuu wa Wilaya Bw. Geofrey Mucunguzi anasema miili hiyo haikutambuliwa ni ya nani.
Zaidi ya hayo, Mucunguzi alisema kuwa watafanya vipimo vya DNA vya miili na vichwa hivyo ili kujiriddisha kama vichwa vilivyopatikana Ibanda ni vya miili hiyo au la.
Sambamba na hilo, Kamanda wa Polisi wa Ibanda anaeleza kuwa anaeleza kuwa vichwa hivyo vilivyokutwa shambani vimehifadhiwa katika Mochwari ya kituo cha afya cha Ruhoko na vitapelekwa Wilayani Kitagwenda kwa ajili ya kufanyiwa vipimo vya DNA ili vitambuliwe.

The Police in Ibanda district on Tuesday recovered two human heads thrown in the farm just near the Ibanda –Kazo road in Kyegwisa Cell of Bufunda Division in Ibanda municipality. Kyegwisa is about three kilometres from Ibanda town.
Officers from Ibanda Police station and residents gathered at the scene but could not identify the male and female heads.
Peter Tindyebwa, the head of Police criminal investigations at Ibanda Police Station, told journalists the preliminary investigations indicate that the murder could have taken place somewhere else.
The incident comes barely a day after two headless bodies were found dumped in Kikoyo forest in Buhanda sub-county of the neighbouring Kitagwenda district. According to the Resident District Commissioner Kitagwenda district, Geoffrey Mucunguzi, bodies have not been identified yet. The bodies are also female and male.
Mucunguzi told reporters at Ibanda police station that DNA tests are going to be conducted to ascertain whether the recovered heads in Ibanda belong to the headless bodies found in Kamwenge district.
The Ibanda District Police Commander Emily Angomoku said: “The heads have been put in the mortuary at Ruhoko Health centre IV and would be sent for DNA sampling. None of their identities or age could be ascertained. We shall coordinate with our counterparts in Kitagwenda to relate two incidents.”
She added that if the identity of the slain persons are not established soon, their details and photographs would be sent to CID for publication in the media.
