Tension is high in Nairobi as angry resident protesting Raila Odinga’s failed assassination uproot railway line. Residents engaging police in running battles.

Angry Kibera youths on Monday evening tried to uproot a section of the railway line at Kibera in protests against police’s direct shooting at Cord leader Raila Odinga’s car during the anti-IEBC demos in Nairobi.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that local youths destroyed the railway line at around 9.30pm; the extent of destruction could not be immediately be ascertained.

The riots were a continuation of demos against corrupt and allegedly biased IEBC commissioners who have stayed put even as majority Kenyans have expressed doubts as to their competence to officiate 2017 general election.

Raila’s car windscreen was hit at by police by what many said to ge a live bullet as he joined thousands of his supporters for the third sit-in at Anniversary towers earlier on Monday.

Conflicting reports indicated that the railway line was uprooted while others indicated that police were called in to disperse the angry youths before they could succeed in delinking the railway.

The ardent Cord supporters engaged police in running battles following the stand off.

Police cordoned off the Kibera bypass as well as areas along the railway passing through the slum upgrades.

Shots were heard at Lindi and Kisumu Ndogo and was later reported that one person was shot and critically injured. There fears that a well known militia had dressed as police and Power was intentionally switched off to terrorize the residents by the government.

CORD wants IEBC commissioners to vacate office over claims they are biased and cannot preside over a fair election in 2017.

KENYANS Please stop what you are doing now.... What you are currently doing will have negative impacts on the INNOCENT KIDS, WOMEN, OLDS, DISABLEDS , and those who are not involving in politics.
PEACE is needed by all people while TERROR & INSECURITY is only needed by those benefiting from it.
Look to tolerance, look to happiness, look to other countries that are without instability. its not that they are happy with everything that takes place....but they choose peaceful way ti deal with their indeferences.
I being Tanzanian and truly African, urge you to return to the diplomatic table and talk.
Let's differ and confront each other in a friendly way & jokes . In Tanzania we have something very common custom of "utani" jokes, tribes that are "watani" they sometime send their messages in "utani" way but messages are sent.
I LOVE PEACE, AND PRAY FOR KENYA PEACE....
 
When peace is there let's return to the utani table of MANYANG'AU and the like.....

If you had a mad man like Raila in your country, you would have realized that it's not as easy as you say. Anyway, hizo ni habari za kitambo. Labda mleta mada haelewi alichpachika hapo.

Raila is a statesman, not a mad man, his contributions to the freedom we enjoy as Kenyans is immeasurable. For anyone waiting for Kenya to burn, please don't hold your breath, we have our differences but that's not enough to destroy our country, we know better.

Mwandishi yeye ananukuu vijana walioona hilo tukio lakini pia vijana hawa ni wafuasi wa Odinga, je watatoa taarifa yenye ulinganifu? Lakini kwa upande mwingine askari wa Kenya hovyo kabisa, niliona kisa cha jamaa aliyeadhibiwa kwa ukatili mapema wakati maandamano ya kupinga tume ya uchaguzi yalipoanza.

That CAN'T happen, kawaida kuna watu watapiga kelele, walete uchochezi lakini hakuna vita ya kimbari itatokea Kenya, we have experienced it and I beleive we wont go down that slippery slope.

Mkuu si kuna picha nyingi hapa mitandaoni ya yule mwandamanaji hapa Bongo aliepigwa risasi ya tumbo akatawanyika mara mbili.. Mbona mnataka kufanya hili jambo nikama linatokea kwa jirani tu, ama tuna memories kama goldfish.

Umewaza tofauti tu......mimi sikatai maovu hayapo Tz. Kila sehemu kuna police brutality sasa wewe umeshindwa kung'amua mantiki niliyotumia. Habari inaongelea Kenya na si Tz sawa? Mkuu unadhani naichukia Kenya? No mmoja wa wazazi wangu anaasili ya Kenya. Lakini hili ni nje ya mada pia. Asante kwa kuelewa. East Africa ni moja.

Thank you for noticing...... geza I know you want to see that happen... It won't assassination of Raila will turn Kenya into Libya....... Guns in the north are as much as 50kshs only.... EAC will never be the same!!!!!

Wacha wajaribu kumuuwa washangae..... Kenya will break into two like Germany.....
