[h=3]Three people have appeared in court in the northern Tanzanian town of Musoma, charged with murdering a Dutch tourist and a safari lodge manager in the famous Serengeti national park, police said Saturday.[/h]

Bandits attacked a tented safari camp in the park on June 22, killing the two and robbing several tourists.
"They appeared before the resident magistrate's court in Musoma. We are still looking for other suspects," Absalom Mwakyoma, police commander for the northern Mara region, told AFP.

He named the accused as Daniel Musa, Marwa Machage and Ghati Wegesa. The three are among five people who were arrested on June 30 in connection with the killings. The two who have not been charged are "still helping police with investigations," Mwakyoma said.

He said the court hearing took place Thursday.
The police chief said Wegesa was found in possession of a sub-machine gun believed to have been used in committing the crime.
Tourism is a major source of foreign exchange for the east African country.
The Serengeti is known as the starting point of the great migration, one of nature's most spectacular wonders during which hundreds of thousands of wildebeest trek to Kenya's Maasai Mara park every year.
