Huna sababu ya kuipinga kama si mfuatiliaji wa siasa za Marekani, hizo nchi na hao iliowataja iliwa-groom yenyewe kwa malengo ya muda mrefu. Unamkumbuka Savimbi, Mabotu, Sadam, Mugabe wote hawa walikuwa wanapata support ya Marekani baada ya Marekani kupata/kutopata ilichokuwa inakitaka ikawageuka na kuwaita madikteta.

NO NO NO !!! He isnt a Dictator. If you disapprove his leadership, there are DEMOCRATIC processes to vent out your hewa. Tanzania is not a failed state either. YES, we are still amidst serious challenges to our democracy and the process is ON to salvage our country from NASTIES perpetrated by fellow Bongolanders and other equally repugnant forces. Tanzania aint no securocracy. I, for one feels FREE and I abide by the laws of the LAND. Sortcomings are there though. Yet, I am yet to apply the DICTATOR label anywhere! Doesnt fit. At least not yet as we aint seen nothing yet!

This is it. By succumbing to "realpolitik" in an imperfect world, the US has never succeeded in raising up to the pedestal of true champions of global democracy. Democracy (outside the US) has always been a major constraint rather than a boon in their geopolitical ambitions. It is third world dictators that have oiled their wheels to global supremacy at a terrible cost to hapless citizens of those countries. Therefore, trying to moralise about dictatorship in the world without highlighting the link with geopolitical strategies of developed countries is sheer hypocricy of a despicable sort.

Kwa tafsiri rahisi dictator is a leader who has sole power over government, otherwise Ruge uwe na tafsiri yako lakini hawa masheikh sioni udikteta wao, ila kinachotokea ni kuwa wanahodhi mali nying ya nchi zao!

Ama kweli yule mtu aliyesema Afrika inashindwa kuendelea kwa kuwa fikra za wasomi wake zimeganda kwenye mambo ya kale: utumwa (150 years ago), ukoloni (60 years ago), Lumumba (50 years ago). Shah of Iran, Mobutu .... Wakati dunia inaenda mbele kwa kasi kuliko wakati wowote katika historia ya binadamu, sisi tunabaki kufukua na kucheua mambo ya kale na kugandisha fikra na akili zetu kwenye mambo hayo ya zamani wakati ulimwengu uko kwenye mambo ya kisasa na wanatafakari ya kesho.

Kwa mtezamo wetu huo wenzetu tuliopata uhuru nao wametuacha nyuma. Sisi tumebaki tunashika mkia wa maendeleo kati ya nchi zinaoendelea kwa miaka 50 sasa na tutabaki hapo hapo kwa miaka 50 ijayo kama hatutagandua akili zetu na fikra zetu kutoka hapa zilipogandia na kuhodhi mtezamo wa kileo na wa kisasa unaoenda na wakati na kuiwezesha nchi kuwa ya kileo na ya kisasa na inayoenda na wakati.

Ujue kuwa kushika mkia kuna mawili: moja unaishi na mavi na pili wewe ndiwe unachapwa viboko.

I don't believe that Hugo Chavez should be on that list, the people of Venezuela who live in the slums adore him, the rich capitalists and the US generally hate him for various reasons, however the list is quite accurate in many ways, perhaps the name calling is a bit too much, all that 'coconut head' and 'buffoon' stuff should be edited out but overall it's a good read. . .
