HOCET Secondary School Teacher Post​

HOCET Secondary School(HSS) is seeking teachers for Biology, Chemistry, History, Geography and English language for full-time positions to begin immediately at its location on 300 acres of land in the rural village of Shungubweni in Mkuranga. Selection is based on educational background, work experience, and commitment to the school mission. Housing is included. Must have formal training and at least 2 years of experience in teaching. Seeking individual who is flexible, hard-working, and passionate about working with disadvantaged youth.

Responsibilities include the following:

· Teaching respective national curricula to Form I - Form IV to adequately prepare students for national exams in the subject
· Adhering to all HSS policies
· Following the HSS daily timetable and timetable of lessons
· Constructing a scheme of work for each school term; creating daily, written lesson plans, and maintaining an attendance log book
· Formally assessing students no fewer than 2 times per month
· Participating in all professional development workshops and trainings
· Providing mentoring and tutoring support to students
· Participating in extra-curricular activities
· Participating in monthly meetings with school leadership, and term evaluations
· Contributing toward the school's mission to equip vulnerable teens with the tools to overcome poverty and become leaders in their communities
· Respecting students, staff, and the work environment at all times

HSS's mission is to equip Tanzania's youth with the tools, resources, and opportunities to overcome poverty, change their own lives and become leaders in their own communities.
