It is owned by Kamanga Ferry Limited and located at Kamanga, Sengerema districtin Mwanza region.
The Contractors Registration Board (CRB) of Tanzania has issued a Grade I Certificate to Kamanga Ferry Limitedthe company.
Kamanga Ferry's core business is lake transport, shipbuilding, ship repair, salvaging, craneworks and operate in the areas of Lake Victoria connecting Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.Kamanga Ferry transports a wide range of goods such as fuel, heavy mining equipment, cotton, food and much more.
It is also has experience in cable laying and salvaging operations.


Human Resources Manager Renatus Manyanda said in Mwanza recently his company was successfully built and repaired numerous ships for Lake Victoria during the past decades.
"Although we started shipbuilding over the past decade, the difference is that now we have new and modern shipbuilding equipment and expertise," Manyanda said.
The company built MV Kalangala owned by the Uganda government, MV Nansio which is in Kenya plying between Mbita, Mfangano and Takawiri Islands on Lake Victoria and a 500-tone MV Orion II.
"Currently we apply modern technology in shipbuilding and we have been certified by Contractors Registration Board with most of our technicians graduated in Holland," he Manyanda told East African Business Week.
