Tanzania Professionals Summit to Celebrate 50 Years of Independence
the Theme is 50 years of Independence, what have you done as a professional?

Tanzania Professionals Network (TPN) presents the first ever summit to bring together professionals to analyse their role in bringing solutions in our country's development.

TPN is a voluntary, non-profit member-based organization seeking to enhance the role of professionals in transforming the Tanzanian society.
It seeks to influence DECISIONS made at different levels of both public and private sector THROUGH knowledge-based APPROACH.

TPN CONSIDERS itself a key stakeholder of Tanzania's development, and has since its inception working towards mobilizing Tanzanian professionals to rally together in active participation in decision making and implementing and supporting good policies while ensuring that they also support non professional Tanzanians in economic and socio development.

TPN has decided to organize the professionals' summit to discuss the achievements and challenges of Tanzania since independence, and what role professionals have played in this long journey. The postmortem will guide plans for TPN going forward.

The Summit will bring together Professionals from different backgrounds, policy makers, politicians, and captains of industry to discuss their joint roles in critical and constructive discussions while providing solutions for moving the country forward.

The summit will aim to achieve the following objectives:
• To provide an objective analysis of what role professionals have or should have played in the past 50 years
• To provide an objective analysis of whether current policies and national frameworks will transform Tanzania into a middle income country, with a special focus on MKUKUTA and vision 2025
• To provide an objective analysis of the country's education system and whether it has the quality to transform the country
• To discuss the issue of "ethics & professionalism"
• To foster closer relationships with the Diaspora and
On the event day, the following activities shall be carried out;
• Presentations from selected speakers/panellists, on Issues of Strategic nature in the development of Tanzania e.g. 1. Regional Integration, Globalisation and Land rush; 2. Inter and Intraregional trade among African Countries as a means to reducing donor dependence and its negative impact on Africa's development and 3. Climate Change and what Africa needs to do to mitigate as a continent.
• Recognition of Father of Nation the Late Mwl. Julius Kambarage Nyerere
• Presentation from a representative from diaspora community on Synnergy building and Brain Gain.
• Keynote speech from the Guest of Honour
• Unveiling of TPN strategic plan (2012-2016)
• Panel discussions
• Networking session

We have requested H.E. Jakaya M. Kikwete, The President of the United Republic of Tanzania to be the guest of honour. We do hope that He will have the time to grace the occasion.

Kongamano la Wanataaluma Tanzania kusherehekea miaka 50 ya Uhuru
Maudhui ya Kongamano: Je Mwanataaluma Umefanya nini katika Miaka 50 ya Uhuru?

Mtandao wa Wanataaluma Tanzania (TPN) unawaletea kongamano la kwanza kabisa la aina yake katika historia litakalowakutanisha pamoja Wanataaluma kuchanganua wajibu wao katika kuleta ufumbuzi wa maendeleo ya Nchi yetu.

Mtandao wa Wanataaluma Tanzania (TPN) ni shirika la hiari na lisilo la kibiashara. Uanachama wa TPN ni wa wazi kwa mwanataaluma yeyote na madhumuni yetu ni kuimarisha uwezo na wajibu wa Wanataaluma kuendeleza jamii ya Tanzania.

TPN inashawishi maamuzi katika ngazi mbalimbali katika sekta za umma na sekta binafsi kwa kutoa hoja madhubuti kitaaluma na maarifa.
TPN ni wadau muhimu katika maendeleo ya Tanzania, ambapo tangu kuanzishwa kwake wamekuwa wakihamasisha wanataaluma wa Kitanzania kuungana katika kushiriki katika maamuzi, pia kuunga mkono na kutekeleza sera nzuri, huku wakihakikisha kuwa pia wanawasaidia Watanzania wengine katika maendeleo yao kijamii na kiuchumi.

TPN imeamua kuitisha kongamano la Wanataaluma ili kujadili mafanikio na changamoto za Tanzania tangu Uhuru, na kuchambua majukumu yaliyotekelezwa na Wanataaluma katika safari hiyo ndefu. Yatakayoazimiwa kwenye kongamano hili yatakuwa mwongozo kwa mipango ya TPN kusonga Mbele.

Kongamano litawakutanisha Wanataaluma wa Nyanja mbalimbali, watunga sera, wanasiasa na wawekezaji katika viwanda kwa nia ya kujadiliana juu ya majukumu yao ya pamoja kwa njia ya kukosoana kwa njia ya majadialiano yenye kujenga, huku wakitoa mikakati thabiti ya kuendeleza nchi.

Kongamano lina malengo yafuatayo;
• Kuchambua jinsi wanataaluma walivyofanya au ambavyo walipaswa kufanya katika miaka 50 iliyopita
• Kuchambua iwapo sera za sasa na mifumo ya nchi vinaweza kuiwezesha Tanzania kuwa nchi ya kipato cha kati, tukitilia maanani mpango wa MKUKUTA na dira ya maendeleo kufikia mwaka 2025
• Kuchambua mfumo wa elimu nchini na kuangalia iwapo una ubora wa kuendeleza nchi
• Tutajadiliana juu ya Taaluma na Maadili
• Kuimarisha uhusiano na Watanzania Wanataaluma wanaoishi nje ya Tanzania.
Siku ya Kongamano zitafanyika shuguli zifuatazao;
 Wazungumzaji (Wachokoza mada) watawasilisha masuala ya kimkakati katika kuendeleza nchi ya Tanzania, mathalani (1) Muungano wa Kikanda, utandawazi na kimbilio la ardhi, (2) Biashara ya Kikanda au Kimataifa baina ya nchi za Kiafrika kama njia ya kupunguza utegemezi kwa wafadhili na madhara yake katika maendeleo ya Afrika na (3) mabadiliko ya tabia nchi na nini inachotakiwa kufanya Afrika kunusuru hali hiyo.
 Kumtambua Mwasisi wa taifa letu, Hayati Baba wa Taifa Mwl. Julius Kambarage Nyerere.
 Mada juu ya kujenga uwezo wa pamoja na kunufaika na maarifa. Maada hii itatolewa na mwakilishi wa Jumuia ya Watanzania wanaoishi nje ya nchi

• Uzinduzi wa Mpango Mkakati wa TPN wa miaka Mitano (2012-2016)
• Majadiliano katika vikundi vidogovidogo
• Kujenga mtandao miongoni mwa washiriki wa kongamano hili.

Tumemwomba Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania, Mheshimiwa Dkt. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, kuwa mgeni rasmi katika kongamano hilo. Tuna matumaini kuwa atakuwepo na kufungua rasmi kongamano hilo.

Kutakuwa na Washiriki wapatao 500 tu , jiandikishe sasa ili upate nafasi ya kushiriki.
